A friend of mine shared an experience with me...
A child came to school looking unusually angry. Every little correction led to attitude and silence. At first, it looked like stubbornness.
Later, she gently asked the boy, “What’s wrong?”
The child quietly said, “Nobody talks to me at home anymore. Everybody is too busy.”
My heart sank. Sometimes, children don’t act out because they are bad. Sometimes, they are simply asking for attention in the only way they know how.
Parents, your children may not always say “I need you,” but their behaviour sometimes says it loudly. ❤️
What do you think children need most from parents today?👇
As we celebrate Children's Day today, let us remember and pray for children who are separated from their parents.
May God show mercy, protect them wherever they are, and reunite them safely with their families. Amen.🙏🏽
Dear School Owners,
Whenever a staff resigns or is sacked, please inform parents immediately using your WhatsApp group, email, SMS, or any official channel.
Don’t assume everyone already knows.
A parent may still recognize the person as a teacher in your school and confidently hand over their child at the school gate, thinking the person still works there.
Some people are secretly waiting for the day you give up.
Don’t let that day come.
You’ve survived hard days before.
You’ve cried, struggled, felt exhausted… and still kept going.
That strength in you?
It’s rare.
Keep showing up.
Good Morning Friends 💝
Intelligence is not one-size-fits-all.
Some children are good with numbers.
Some express themselves through art.
Some learn fast by listening.
Others learn by doing.
A child who struggles in one area may shine brightly in another.
That is why comparison can be harmful.
Instead of asking,
“Why can’t you be like others?”
Ask,
“What is this child naturally good at?”
Every child has strengths that need patience, support, and encouragement to grow.
Celebrate progress, not just grades.
Help children discover their own unique abilities.💝
I was checking an older woman’s blood pressure at the church clinic when a Sunday school teacher brought a little boy, about 7 years old.
“Why are you crying?” I asked him.
“My tummy hurts,” he said.
So I asked, “Have you eaten?”
He replied, “No… we fast on Sundays.”
Thankfully, it was harvest Sunday and there was food. I asked them to get him some while I called his mum.
This boy finished the food in record time 😅 and the “stomach pain” disappeared.
Teaching children in the way of the Lord is beautiful, but kids under 10 shouldn’t stay hungry for long periods. Start small and let them grow into it gradually. ❤️
Happy Sunday Friends 💝
When I worked in EPU, a mum brought in her 6-year-old with a swollen vulva and bruising.
There was concern someone at home might be hurting her.
The doctor gently asked, “Did anyone touch your vag¡na?”
The child; 🥴
Her mum quickly said, “Oh no, we don’t use those words. We call it Meemow.” 🙄
And that’s the problem.
We avoid the real names, then expect children to clearly explain when something is wrong.
“Pen¡s” and “vag¡na” are not vulgar. They’re body parts.
When kids know the correct names, they can speak up without confusion or shame. They can tell you. A teacher. Anyone.
We teach eyes, ears, nose, and toes without thinking twice. Their private parts deserve that same honesty.
Normalize the words. Normalize the conversations.
Because protection starts with education.
Whether you work full time, part time, work from home or a full house parent, Happy Worker's Day.
Raising a child is a lot of work and that deserves to be celebrated.
Thank you for putting in the necessary work to ensure your children are raised properly.
Thank you for raising the next generation.
You came to visit a sick friend, but instead of asking them how they’re doing, you went behind their back to question the nurse about their diagnosis.
Why not ask your friend directly? If they want you to know, they’ll tell you.
Some people don't really like you walahi 😒
A doctor shared a post online about a “new” protocol, and it sparked a lot of debate. Curious, I checked it myself and it turns out it’s actually backed by solid evidence.
The CDC in the U.S. recommends that all exclusively breastfed babies should be given 400 IU of vitamin D drops daily to prevent rickets.
Honestly, I’m not sure how widely this is practiced in Nigeria yet. Most of us were taught to rely on sunlight, but things seem to be changing.
Have you come across this in your practice or facility?
I found a beautiful scripture today🥺
But me, I'm not giving up. I'm sticking around to see what GOD will do. I'm waiting for God to make things right. — Micah 7:7
Please stop putting soap, palm oil, or herbs inside a baby’s anus because of constipation. 👇
Many people believe it will make the baby poo.
❌ But it can seriously hurt the baby.
The anus is very delicate.
Inserting anything can cause:
• Wounds
• Infection
• Swelling
• Internal burns or irritation
And the worst part?
It doesn’t fix the real cause of constipation. It can actually create bigger problems.
✅ What to do instead:
• Babies under 6 months — breastfeed more often.
• Babies on solids — give more fruits, vegetables, and small amounts of water.
• Gently massage the tummy.
• Move baby’s legs like cycling.
• If it lasts several days, see a doctor.
Constipation is uncomfortable, yes.
But hurting the baby is not the solution.
Have you seen this done before? Let’s talk.
A woman shared with me how, after giving birth, she began to:Forget simple things, lose her train of thought, feel slow, foggy and struggle to concentrate
When she talked about it, people laughed and said: 👉 “Na mummy brain.”
But no one explained why it happens.
🧠 Let’s Explain It Simply
This is called postpartum brain fog.
It happens because of:
• Sleep deprivation
• Hormonal changes
• Mental overload (baby care, anxiety, new routines)
• Poor nutrition or low iron
👉 Your brain is tired, not damaged
🌸 What Brain Fog Can Look Like
✔ Forgetting names or words
✔ Difficulty focusing
✔ Feeling mentally slow
✔ Making small mistakes
✔ Feeling overwhelmed easily
💡 This is very common after childbirth.
🚨 When It’s NOT Just Brain Fog
Please seek help if:
❌ Confusion is severe
❌ You feel disoriented
❌ You have severe headaches or vision changes
❌ Extreme tiredness doesn’t improve
👉 This may point to anaemia, thyroid issues, or depression.
🧘🏽♀️ What Helps
✔ Rest whenever you can
✔ Eat regular, nourishing meals
✔ Drink enough water
✔ Write things down
✔ Ask for help
