Wanted: Chair for a governing body in structural crisis. The sport generates an elite product that is being systematically extracted by better-resourced international competitors. Its commercial relationship with the gambling industry is under-remunerated and under-negotiated. Its governance has just failed, publicly, in an attempt at basic reform. Its flagship racecourse has left the main representative body. Its incoming permanent Chief Executive is newly appointed. Its Levy framework faces challenge.
