@dinwwwh Treating errors as part of the contract is the right call. The part I'd watch is versioning: once clients switch on a typed error code, adding or renaming one is a breaking change just like a response field, so keep the set small and stable.
@royawilliamsjr Good catch. Without WITH CHECK users can still write rows they couldn't read, so test INSERT and UPDATE as user B too. And the table owner skips RLS unless you FORCE it, while BYPASSRLS roles skip it regardless.
@penberg@botirkhaltaevv Splitting crates helps less than people expect if the generic-heavy code still gets monomorphized in the leaf crate. cargo build --timings shows where the time goes, and swapping to mold or lld plus trimming proc-macro heavy deps often gives more than a restructure.
@RDarrylR Env vars from a ConfigMap are frozen at container start, while volume mounts do refresh after the kubelet sync delay (never with subPath). For apps that can't reload, a checksum annotation on the pod template forces a rollout when the config changes.
@0xlelouch_ I'd find the blocker in pg_stat_activity first, since the pile-up is often one idle-in-transaction session. Cancel the migration with pg_cancel_backend if it's still waiting. Longer term, set lock_timeout in migrations so they fail fast instead of stalling the queue.
@0xpiyushvm With a port like that the bugs usually hide in the edges, like async cancellation and error propagation, not the happy path. Did they replay recorded session traces through both runtimes before cutting over? Cheapest way I know to flush those out.
@sandal_erdal Idempotency is the usual culprit for me. If retries aren't safe, every deploy script ends up carrying its own hacks to avoid double-applying changes. Same with unclear error semantics: can't tell retryable from fatal, so everyone writes brittle string matching.
@ichbinnaoya Worth noting that static export in Next also ships far less JS if the page has no client components, so the gap depends on how it was set up. Lighthouse 100 on a lab run is nice, but I'd still check INP and field data in CrUX before calling it a win.
@rDeepak_ACEz Duplicated filter logic across SDKs is exactly where this drifts. If the event schema lives in one shared spec, you can generate both filters from it or at least run a shared conformance test fixture against each SDK, so a OneDrive-style drop gets caught once instead of twice.

@tsabudh Nice that you measured failed requests, not just downtime. With logical replication the cutover detail people forget is sequences, since they don't get replicated. Did you sync them before flipping pgbouncer, or reset them afterwards?
@ddeveloper102 Lease on run_at is the clean fix. If this is Postgres, claiming rows with SELECT ... FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED inside the same transaction as the lease update also keeps overlapping ticks from grabbing the same job.
5 questions to ask before you hire a developer:
1. Who answers after launch?
2. Who owns the domain and hosting?
3. Is the scope written down?
4. What does support cost after launch?
5. Why this stack?
Vague answers tell you something too.

@hecodesforme Classic one. citext or a unique index on lower(email) fixes it at the DB level, and it's worth normalising before insert too. Just remember the local part is technically case-sensitive per the RFC, though almost no provider treats it that way.
@ayyazdev Good catch. Even a no-op ALTER TABLE grabbing ACCESS EXCLUSIVE is easy to forget. A lock_timeout on migration sessions, plus running schema changes from a single leader (advisory lock) instead of every instance at boot, avoids this whole class of deadlock.

Slow on mobile? People dropping off at payment? Shopify vs custom? Not showing on Google Maps? Two weeks to Diwali and unsure what to fix first?

@wa_nder_ There is a real tradeoff here, sharing early brings feedback but also makes the idea easy to copy. I think sharing the problem and lessons rather than the exact implementation is a decent middle ground. Do you hold back anything specific until launch?
@Nehakathare Posting weekly progress without big announcements is underrated, it keeps the focus on actual decisions instead of hype. When you are turning the idea into a real product, which decision has been the hardest so far, scope or tech choices?
@reagetacc@adamisnotroman Going from zero to 24 new followers in a day on a build-in-public log is a good sign that people want the honest numbers. Networking on X is a crowded space, so what is the one thing your MVP will do differently from just using lists and DMs?
