Cardano Governance Worked: Revival of Community hope and a win for Charles Hoskinson Community’s Voice Advocacy.

It's with a great importance to acknowledge the big win for Cardano Decentralized Governance to have worked as it is designed.

To some, it may seems as a defeat to the founding entities, but to the founding entities, I presumed it to be good news to them to have seen what we have built working as intended.

Disclaimer: I have not studied the comprehensive pattern of DRep votes on the three founding entities proposals and all statements in this post should not be considered 100% accurate, but I stand to be corrected. I may also not use any particular entity name in my claims as some might not be true.

All the founding entities of Cardano ecosystem from the Genesis have always had their ways on the Tresury withdrawal without community input or oversight until last year 2025 when on-chain governance enacted, while some has made some adjustments to have reported to the community how the funds previously secured was used while others didn't care about community ask, it is still not sufficient to see the impact of the spending on the broader ecosystem. I can say confidently to some extent, the Genesis responsibilities of a particular entity has been duly achieved 80-90% as of today while on a very small size we have others to deliver on such responsibilities.

The Cardano Governance has changed the narratives to have given community the voice to decide what we want and what not, and by design to suffer or win together by the consequences of our collective decisions.

It's no more news that Cardano Summit 2026 by CF has been canceled due to the unsuccessful treasury withdrawal action, Emrugo’s Proposal suffered the same faith, it's also important to note that IO isn't an exception of this governance experience as only six of nine proposals were ratified and 3 were rejected. The six proposals that passed wasn't just because it was from IO they were as a result of back and forth conversation, clarification, and lots of community engagements, I believe everyone would agree with me that all the founding entities experienced the Governamce process as an inconvenience as against the initial way of taking out money from the treasury easily. It's safe to say all entities budget requests could have passed without the governance in place.

This is a tremendous win for the Cardano community and ADA holders, and also an answer to the lingering questions of why we rushed Governance.

My loyalty to Cardano to have held on to the deep to ensure my voice is represented in Governance is enough for me to forget every single cent lost to the market deep.
