Now calling all stations with any kind of rails between Europe and Asia! The @trainsplustweet successor project to @nextstnchina but far bigger and better!
Station 40 for #NextStationEurasia (and Station 422 for @nextstnchina)... the suburban rail station of Liangxiang in the southwest of Beijing. A station 20 km away from the centre of the Chinese capital...
Even more social distancing at the ticket hall... Chifeng Railway Station, Departures Level (Ticket Office 3). The new ticket machines supposedly can support passports but we’re probably waiting on a software update perhaps... (Some stations already support them!)
Station crew most likely would refer this as “two railway tracks to the side of a big long flower pot”... and if you look closely here at the station square at Chifeng station, it won’t be difficult to find out why...!
Put an iPhone 11 in 0.5x zoom mode... and add a truly impressive station at the back. The perfect ingredients for Chifeng Railway Station... which is the city’s High Speed hub.
It’s #NextStationEurasia station 39... Chifeng Railway Station! (Inner Mongolia, Northern China)
David seems to have forgotten his words here... but, can you really blame him? Still being wowed by this massively redone station which is not even two months old!...
The David Feng “the usuals” onboard... coffee with “standard water”...
By the time this tweet goes online both would’ve gotten emptied...
Also snacks although slightly less enthusiastic on them for now...
Doing an easy 300 km/h via Langfang HSR Station.
Why not 350 km/h? This is an older train (the #HarmonyExpress) and even though these CRH380CL trains were built for 350-380 km/h, the rail gods merely allowed the #RevivalExpress to do The Full 350...
Now onboard... Car 1 at the far end, all Business Class (really a godsend during Corona, as it allows for adequate social distancing) seats “just” 16.
Imagine the German ICE 3 trains but with a much longer nose. That’s it...!
“Chase me if you can!...”
The 17:17 on Platform 2 departs right as the 17:22 arrives on Platform 1. Both are headed to Beijing South and are nationwide long-haul HS services.
Tianjin South indeed is one of the busier stations in town...!
Train now arriving at Platform 2 is the 17:17 to Beijing South. A type CRH380A train coming all the way from the coast (Fuzhou, SE China). Noted for its sharp nose!
Platform level. There’s both the 17:17 train to Beijing South on Platform 2 and, merely five minutes later, the 17:22, also to Beijing South. And a 350er!
Next Station: Eurasia has actually done Tianjin South before but it’s always good to give it a nice look back at times.
Patronage really picking up at Tianjin South. Corona being cornered this part of the country (albeit new cases in the South & NW) thus more people on the move. Quite a number though with masks just to be on the safe side of things.
Gate 1 at Tianjin South for all NORTHBOUNDS including those to NE CHINA.
Gate 2 at Tianjin South for all SOUTHBOUNDS including those to QINGDAO, HEFEI, and SHANGHAI.
