Good reminder to focus on things that you want to personally become.
The fastest way to become more intelligent is to have better hobbies. Your brain is constantly changing, and it adjusts to whatever you repeat. You've heard of it before; it's called neuroplasticity. Bad hobbies lead to a poorer brain. But you can utilize this by picking the right hobbies and habits. Writing, reading, strategizing: the usual analytical and creative skills. But there's no need to overcomplicate it. As long as you think for yourself, you'll do something good for your brain. Every investment in intelligence is a good investment.
18 months ago, Karpathy coined “vibe coding.”
A lot of engineers, including me, laughed: “Vibe coders are NGMI.”
Then we started copy-pasting code into ChatGPT.
Then Claude Claude.
Then 10 parallel coding agents.
Hand-writing code now feels like being a psychopath.
That was a weirdly fast 18 months.
