Women who want a male-free vacation need to look no further: in Finland #SuperShe island is a women-only and male-free island. Creator Kristina Roth got the idea after seeing how women tend to relax more on retreats when there are no males around. https://t.co/Qrk6jnPSXE
#100years ago in the UK, certain women became eligible to vote, & women were given the right to stand for Parliament. Amidst the celebrations, let's not forget those women that were excluded from voting for another ten years, & the women still denied a political voice even today.
#MeToo = for the most part, powerful women. For the most part, wealthy women. For the most part, white women. How do one broaden it? How do you reach beyond the priveleged, to be more inclusive and effective?
If you actually look how women use #MeToo, you see that they know the difference between an incident where their personal safety or job security is threatened and not.
#MeToo has recieved criticism for conflating major crimes with minor ones. Rape is not the same thing as a tasteless comment in a bar. This criticism mainly comes from men, but is this criticism fair?
@alvintheguide @EriksenHaneboe In Sweden a good level of English is enough, we are not so fuzzy about everyone learning our language since we are very international :)
@EriksenHaneboe @alvintheguide That quota is made in negotiation with the UN, meaning the Norwegian government wouldn’t agree to a higher one. The EU repeatedly asks Norway to increase very LOW quota with the ongoing desperate refugee situation. Besides, FrP wants to “drastically decline immigration” anyways.
@EriksenHaneboe @alvintheguide You mean how you avoid being a open, socialistic and helpful society that welcome people in need - especially in an immigration crisis with millions of people forced to leave their country? Most swede’s are proud of the successful integration politics that we have :)
@EriksenHaneboe @alvintheguide Well, they both have similar anti- immigration agendas, but FrP focus on cutting taxes as well. SD often gladly compares themselves to FrP, but it is not the other way around. Maybe because we criticize that type of political position a lot more in Sweden :)
