This account seeks to classify everyone into a micro-trope (So niche! so esoteric!). Macro-tropes are known to too many people - so information regarding how to classify people into even more niched down categories sells well to the knowledge workers on this app.

Because the Eames chair allows you to signal you have "taste" in a way that's not possible with other types of furniture. It's easily recognizable (like Rolex Submariners and Porsche 911s), expensive (exclusive), but also mass produced (thus also attainable). This does not detract from its design merits, much like how the Rolex Submariner is undeniably a good watch. Only to say why it's often the first thing someone buys when they get a bit of money. If you collect a few of these things — Eames Chair, Rolex Sub, Porsche 911, cropped shirt with big pants — you can feel like you have cultural capital.
