@supadoteth @eyelidsnft Completely. And it can’t be denied that money is a factor in the big picture, but it should never be the driving force behind community. Community can and should exist without financial ties.

One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen people make in the community space over and over is making it about their company/project/themselves and not about their community. Stop focusing on just promoting yourself. Have fun with it. Add real value for your community.

If you’re yelling into the void about your project/brand/self over and over, you didn’t build a community. You built yourself a podium under the guise of building community.

Value doesn’t have to mean financial either. Give them something to care about. Something to connect with others on. Realize that you’re a member of the community too and act like it. Approach decisions by “what’s best for the community” as often as you can.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for my time with SAAS community. I learned a lot, I grew a lot, and I processed a lot. I made great connections. It was all valuable. But it ended up feeling so stagnant in the end.

Having spent years in the SAAS community space, time away to work on my own stuff is exactly what I needed. When the space is so small and so many projects are the same, burnout happens so fast. There's so little inspiration.

That's why I'm excited about community in the NFT space. There are so many projects. There's so much inspiration on all levels. It's not cookie-cutter communities. Community fundamentals are largely the same, but applying them in a new context is refreshing and exciting.
