While the suspect has not been apprehended, Calgary Police report that the individual has left campus. The security situation on campus has been cleared by the Calgary Police Service. Officers continue to investigate.
Not every day do I get to open a massive @cenmag cover story like this:
"Carbon capture isn’t about saving Earth. Earth is a wet rock floating through space; it doesn’t care if we drown our coastal cities or turn our farmland into desert."

I’d like to thank @IntAdsSoc for hosting this #IASTwitterPoster conference. There is a great community of scientists on here and it was a great success!
@jnb2211 Yep! They’ve got a nice graphic in that paper that talks about using overlapping aromatic rings across the pore with a 7A distance to produce this effect.
Hello, World! For my first tweet, I would like to share my work on “Structuring a Water-Stable MOF for Carbon Capture Processes” as part of the #IASTwitterPoster conference. Questions and comments are welcome! #Adsorption#MOF#CCS2020
@jnb2211 Hey James, we have some molecular force modeling that suggests it is the pi electron influence from the overlapping heterocycles in the structure that produces a shielding effect at low RH. You can find more discussion about this type of effect here: https://t.co/NwOAcWdAJD
@DavidDanaci Hi David! Most of our competitive CO2/H2O sorption data is from dynamic systems, though perhaps @TaiTTNguyen can comment further here. Also the 77K N2 isotherms are of the powder in the mother liquor and not from single crystal samples.
@IsabelMoritz Hi Isabel, thanks for reading my poster! Our lab and collaborators have found the structure & CO2 adsorption capacity is fully retained after > 1k cycles of ads/desorping water vapor. We've even tried boiling it in water and it survived!
Fantastic adsorbents and where to find them, & their performance limits for #CO2 capture now possible through 🍁MAPLE (Machine assisted Adsorption Process Learning and Emulation framework). Read it here➡️https://t.co/4J5btkSFGM (preprint) #IASTwitterPoster#MOF#ML#optimization
Excited to share my work for the #IASTwitterPoster Conference: Adsorption Equilibria and Dynamic Column Breakthrough Studies of CO2 and N2 on CALF-20, a magical #MOFs for #CCS
