@ChrisChavez Stuff like this makes Mantz so easy to root for. Love to see a Marathoner mix it up on the track. He approaches his racing schedule like Frank Shorter and guys of that era. Not afraid to race at other distances.
@TheRealMerb This reminds me that I went to bed every weeknight my senior year of HS track season at 8:56pm thinking superstitiously that it would help me run 8:56 for 3200…I only ran 9:15.
@CitiusMag Hot Take: The 10,000 always turns out to be the most exciting Olympic track final! So much strategy and drama. I was on the edge of my seat for the final 10 laps
@jgault13 Keely is right at the top of my list of athletes I want to see win gold after way too many runner up finishes. I can’t decide if I am more invested in her success or Rai Benjamin’s.
@ThePapaLinks As a lifelong track fan, I really enjoyed it. Would have liked to them to get into the specifics of training a little more but completely get why the didn’t go that route. My wife, who never watches track, loved it and is all in on cheering for her favorites at the Olympics
@CitiusMag Sad to see this. Watching Norman finally get gold last year was a highlight for me as a fan. I hope he can get right for next year’s Olympics. Also, I hope he stops with the 100m, run the 200/400 double (scheduled permitting)!
@bri_chamberlin @kxnaomi I’m not saying T&F needs more competitions. Only that it would be nice for fans if things like world outdoors, world indoors and world XC were taken seriously
@bri_chamberlin @kxnaomi That is 100% true for golf and I almost left it out of my original reply for that reason. Tennis is the true comparison. It’s a grueling sport where matches last for hours.
@kxnaomi @bri_chamberlin Other sports with bigger audiences have multiple major championships every year (Tennis, Golf). It really isn’t too much to ask for pro athletes to race/compete once per year…
If truly @usatf@USOPC_CEO values athletes’ safety then changing the start times shouldn’t be an issue. We the athletes plus the public all need to speak up. What’s the logic behind a noon marathon in Orlando? Is tv/fan THE factor & greater than human health? NO!
@patkc13 To the people who say that it’s odd for him to start PEDs post-retirement: do some research on what endurance sports do to hormone levels in men. Many need PEDs to get back to normal T levels post career. No idea if Hassan was clean but all explanations should be explored.
@jgault13 It’s so frustrating. Why can’t they show the whole 5000, it’s not like 13-15 minutes is asking a lot. Especially on a night with only 4 events. It also takes away the enjoyment I get from the field events. Show them during time between track events.
Jordan Tropf is going for a marathon triple this weekend: Baltimore, Chicago, Boston.
His goal is sub-2:30 in all three races.
So far, so good: he ran 2:27 in Baltimore this morning.
Here’s Obama dancing maskless with hundreds of his birthday party attendees last night. But, remember, it’s not safe for your kids to go to school without wearing masks. All of this is total and complete bullshit: https://t.co/QGxov4ZJrC
