@wonwonkyeom@adnaannasir_ It's not good for humans, that's the point. It's good for a select few, the rest get fucked. Just like every other power imbalance
@Burgoa75091185@adnaannasir_ Claude doesn't need to impress you to replace peoples jobs. It's a math equation, if you can write better code for cheaper without a human or health insurance or other benefits, they will take the cheaper and better route regardless of what you think
He's right. I am a senior staff engineer in finance. A year ago it was "ok yeah I get it" and 6 months ago it was "holy shit, its really gonna happen" and each month/week/day it just moves faster. People assume it's the models getting better only, but the big progress is in the tooling which is lagging behind the models significantly. As the tools develop and companies build complete AI pipelines and not just claude code, its going to take all of our jobs. Not a single doubt.
@matta_tpa@RonSwanonson Doesn't need to be a savings account, can be investment account, crypto, gold, etc. May have some volatility, but anything liquid should count. I would keep 3-6 months living expenses if possible.
@RonSwanonson A brokerage account is an emergency fund, anything liquid is. Bitcoin, gold, stocks, cash. A house or private shares with no secondary market are not an emergency fund. I think you are taking it too literal.
@insiderJmoney >have you asked the universities why it costs so much?
yes, it's because students are given loans for it. the more money the government gives out, the higher prices go. this helps solve the issue of for profit greed by the universities.
So your argument is that poor kids make poor financial choices? and the solution is to empower them instead of teach them otherwise? I find this argument silly, we should be empowering kids from poor families to seek education that will empower them to raise the next generation out of poverty.
And you don't see anything wrong with tax payers funding people dance degree loans so they can work in section 8 housing? I mean, good for your mom, nothing against her. Just as her job should not measure her worth, neither should her dance degree. I may be failing to see your point.
@kmac77787 Oh no, people are not forced into crippling debt because they want to make a difference.
Parent post brought to you by big corporate predatory profits.
Housing measured by a dying currency is expensive for sure, so was real estate in Venezuela during hyperinflation. Measured in historical US terms, housing is as cheap as itβs ever been. It just happens to cost more dollars than ever before, thatβs a function of the dollar not the house
Yeah man, home ownership is unobtainable right now. When you measure prices against real money like gold, you see homes are about as cheap as theyβve ever been. Itβs a tough pill to swallow knowing the entire system is dying, easier to blame housing market. Doesnβt change anything, weβre fucked
