Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC) is joining the Arua City Youth Parliament, represented by young people and staff, to amplify youth voices and showcase the impact of the #SHESOARS project.
Through dialogue and accountability, young people will raise issues around SRHR, livelihoods, skills, inclusion, protection and economic empowerment, while sharing solutions and experiences from their communities. #IYD26
The #SAYPlus+ Programme will strengthen adolescent and youth rights, empowerment, protection, and access to youth-responsive SRHR services across 13 districts in five sub-regions of Uganda.

Let’s talk sustainability in menstrual health. The use of reusable sanitary towels reduces waste and long-term costs, but it must go hand in hand with proper hygiene practices. Sterilization, through thorough washing, drying in sunlight, and safe storage is critical to ensure safety and prevent infections.

We concluded a two-day non-residential health camp with young people from Nabwigulu Sub County. The camp provided age-appropriate SRHR information ahead of Term One, equipping young people with knowledge to protect their health, dignity, and future.

What stood out most was their commitment to making informed, healthier choices. When young people have the right information, they choose better. Investing in youth SRHR education is investing in safer schools, stronger communities, and a healthier generation.
No need to worry about holiday care, we’ve got it covered.

Earlier this week, we participated in a two-day Project Information and Impact Reporting System meeting with #SHESOARS 🇺🇬 project partners in Arua. This gathering allowed us to learn and incorporate valuable feedback into our evidence-based legal and policy advocacy programming.
Your mind is a focal point that pushes you to grow and be better.
As a man, it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to say sorry, and it’s okay to seek help. Strength isn’t silence.
Speak up, there is help, and you don’t have to face it alone. -@nguzajames1#TuesdayThought#NTCAt30
Under the theme "Celebrating the past, planning for the future towards meeting the needs of all young people at the Centre", we reminisce on the #WPDUg24.
In a bid to spark change, amplify youth voices, and create spaces where youth are empowered, @NaguruC and partners brought together several people for health talks and an intergenerational dialogue, engaging different stakeholders to create awareness and identify interventions to alleviate the various challenges faced by youth in society.
Special appreciation to all who made it possible- our partners, facilitators, and the youth in attendance. #TBThursday

Change starts with a single voice — yours.
Just because something is seen as tradition doesn’t make it right. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is not a rite of passage, it is a violation. A harmful practice rooted in control, misinformation, and fear. It strips girls of their dignity, their health, and their future.

Menstruation is a natural and powerful sign of a healthy, functioning body. Yet, for far too long, it’s been wrapped in silence, stigma, and misinformation. It’s time to shift that narrative.
Your period is not something to hide or be embarrassed about, it’s a symbol of resilience and the incredible ability your body holds. By learning about how your body works, maintaining proper hygiene, and embracing your cycle without shame, you empower yourself and others around you.
Knowledge gives you power. Hygiene gives you safety. Confidence gives you freedom.

Aloysius and Clarita had an unforgettable time learning all about condom use and protection with our team at #UNSHC2025!
They got hands-on, practical knowledge that empowers them to make safer, smarter choices.
Watch them as they share what they learned and why every young person needs this kind of information.

Today in Arua City, we proudly celebrate the group level graduation for the inaugural cohort of ASRH groups in Pajulu Sub-County! This milestone marks not just the completion of key learning modules but also a transition empowering young people to take independent and advanced roles in SRH initiatives within their communities.
Joined by city and local leaders, we witness this incredible journey of transformation. A huge thanks to the #SHESOARsProject for making this possible!
