Based on a recent discussion about how we don’t get formal lectures on stuff we use in the OR, I made this PowerPoint for medical students to learn about basic instruments of ortho trauma. Please share with anyone who you think might benefit! https://t.co/Du12NrIddr

Today I operated with an attending I hadn’t worked with before. At the end of the case she stuck out her palm to shake my hand... but I thought she was asking for an instrument so I handed her a pair of scissors
Ortho tip:
Weight loss is an under appreciated and under utilized treatment for arthritis pain.
Every lb of weight lost is equal to 3-4 lbs of pressure off the hip or knee.
Even a modest 10 lb weight loss can relieve 30-40 lbs of joint stress.

@DrRajRajani Appreciate you doing this and thank you for the zoom session last night!
Since we can’t realistically do tours this cycle, a unique perspective I thought of was having residents run through each part of their program giving their opinions so it’s personable!
My attending was struggling with bolt cutters for an ex fix today.
OR staff said he should hit the gym.
Me: I got this new workout program!
Attending hands me the bolt cutters: “here you go then”
The bolt bit back, I’ll be hitting the gym #orthotwitter.
@LsuOrtho Zoom Q&A with residents! From what I’m hearing from my colleagues 1 to 1 would be preferable if time allows. There were some 5 on 5’s where time was not super efficient with pauses.
Being able to attend didactics was one of the biggest plus for me to learn with the team!
