I’ve been thinking about post-colonial voices, after seeing the 1985 film “Handsworth Songs”& “When Words Fall Silent” @Tate. London is so diverse now compared to when I grew up in. We can eat any cuisine, speak any language, and discuss if Paddington is right! Yes, @AmbJapanUK?
@CotswoldLadyB@thewhitecompany When I moved from a recent diplomatic posting, half my porcelain and china was put into boxes upsized down or with no packing.
@CotswoldLadyB@thewhitecompany Every box I opened seem to get progressively worse. Obvious lots of breakages. I can only say, at least yours wasn’t already part of a set and replaceable. Mine were not 😥
@Enezator My dad was ill and I had to change planes in Germany to get to London. I’m always so grateful the UK was in the EU at the time- I ran through the airport briefly showing my red passport and therefore made my connection. Sadly not possible today.
I was recently in Japan. I love that the Japanese are as respectful here as at home. I want to tell them,at my London bank branch yesterday, people had discarded banana skins, sandwich boxes and bottles across the waiting area sofas. The bank staff didn’t clear it away…
Japanese football fans have been praised online after staying behind to clean up Wembley Stadium following their team’s 1–0 victory over England.
After the historic win, Japanese supporters remained in the stands to tidy the stadium before leaving.
