Sexual Gender Based Violence cases are on the rise in the urban informal settlements and pose as a threat to community well-being and resilience.
As part of the #16DaysOfActivism against Gender-Based Violence, The Urban Community Resilience Building Project (@danskrodekors Funded) organized an awareness and sensitization session on Gender-Based Violence for 112 Nairobi County volunteers, in order to build their knowledge on GBV and enable them to realize their role in GBV prevention and response.
Our Red Cross Action Teams from across the country are undertaking rigorous/intense water rescue training to improve their response readiness.
This comes after the @MeteoKenya Issued a heavy rain alert. Our responders will be able to enhance their life-saving water skills and be able to respond promptly and effectively in the event of any emergency caused by the anticipated long rain, especially in mapped hotspot counties.
@KenyaRedCross is devoted to mitigating the impact of the anticipated rains. Just like our slogan says, we are "Always There." Today, tomorrow and forever.
