I agree with your assessment of Green's video. It is extremely important to analyze a system after every change, because any addition or removal can be a failure point. A key point of structural engineering is building a safe structure with the fewest materials.

I agree with you that, as stated in Green's video, past engineering failures could have been prevented had they been properly analyzed. Further, it is the job of an engineer to determine if something will fail before it is built, relying on math and history.
This shows that, had the materials been more thoroughly tested (as discussed in Green's video), it would be obvious that the ship was not built with strong enough material. A36 steel, a modern standard, would have been a much better material to build the hull out of.
Hank Green's video on construction failure demonstrates the importance of thorough testing and ensuring the materials involved are able to withstand the stresses the are expected to experience. Our group is planning on discussing the failures experienced by the Titanic. #RHUB392

I find the structure outlines to be most useful, as it gives me a clear idea of how I should break down my paper (title, summary, table of contents, introduction, body, setup, procedure, results/discussion, conclusion/recommendation and references). I wish I had this earlier!

have not been produced in large quantity until very recently, and these resources are necessary for teaching engineers how to better succeed in the future (by avoiding failures). I agree with his stance, and I believe that understanding failures is crucial to understanding tech.
Henry Petroski's podcast and article makes it clear that failures occur whether we like it or not, and it is important for engineers to learn how and why failures occurred. Petroski also makes it clear that resources on the constructive use of failures #RHUB392
without biases. Factual correctness, socially acceptable language, neutrality and transparency are all a part of this. Additionally, all information/images should be properly cited.
Tamara Powell's "Ethics in Technical Communication" showed the ethics and appropriate language required for a good root cause analysis. It is important to use precise and respectful language when creating technical writing, along with including clear information #RHUB392
The writing process is going quite well for me so far, and I am in the process of revising the rough draft for my written instructions. I am concerned that my instructions may not be applicable enough to a general audience, but otherwise I feel confident. #RHUB392

I think this image is extremely useful and descriptive! I like that it includes instructions under the pictures in a clear and concise manner. I would also advise adding dimensions to the images so the reader knows how large these should be.

I did not know what a skinning knife was. I think your image can be very useful if you provide context about why this specific shape/type of knife is better for skinning, while considering the 7 C's. I think you should go into clear detail when explaining this!
