In the 80s, minimum-wage service jobs went to native-born teenagers. I was one of them. Nearly everyone had summer jobs at a factory, fast food, waterfront, etc.
Now all those jobs are taken by foreigners from the Third World. Our government has allowed this, to our society's detriment.
When are we going stop pretending that "everything is fine" and that "it will all work out somehow"?
We just watched 2 major California elections stolen before our eyes, and cowardly John Thune still won’t pass the Save America Act. He’s worse than Pence.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared today: “You won’t hear me draw a distinction between Australians and migrants.”
So I guess our Prime Minister just doesn’t believe in the existence of Australia as a country.
@nyserda is the NY agency that courts foreign solar and wind developers, promising them deals and money if they build on our prime farmland.
That’s why NYSERDA has over $2 billion dollars in its coffers right now. They need a lot of money to make destroying our land enticing to these corporations.
And they get that money from us. From the delivery charge on our electric bills.
Here we have them appointing another globalist bureaucrat who will sell out our prime farmland, grassland habitat, and water to the highest solar panel and wind turbine bidder. This is business as usual with @KathyHochul as our governor.
Zibelman is being appointed to represent the interests of Canada, England, Spain, Denmark, and Australia, all of whom have their hands in our Upstate NY grid and renewable energy destruction.
As it turns out, for Christopher Nolan‘s much awaited The Odyssey, AMC recorded our highest first-day ticket sales for any studio-released movie title since 2022.
My apologies if you encountered a long ticketing line on the AMC web site and app yesterday.
Fortunately, we still have MILLIONS more available seats for you to catch what is sure to be a global phenomenon.
Ironically, the only first-day AMC ticket sales results since 2022 that topped The Odyssey were for our very own music-oriented projects from our own AMC Theatres Distribution, namely first-day ticket sales for the Renaissance concert film from Beyonce in 2023 and our two Taylor Swift efforts in 2023 and again in 2025.
Other than our early sales for the Beyonce and Taylor projects, The Odyssey first-day dollars in hand outpaced those of the many hundreds of studio-released movies of the past four years.
The Adirondack Park used to be off limits to this kind of industrial desecration.
The park used to be a place where “Forever Wild” was prioritized.
It all changed with the 2019 Climate Act that gave climate extremists the “justification” to do this to our land.
@KathyHochul stacked the Adirondack Park Agency, and the @NYSDEC, with individuals who would rather see Chinese-made panels and turbines anchored to our ground than the unspoiled environmental wonder of the ADK Park.
Here is another solar facility that’s located inside the bounds of the ADK Park (Crown Point, NY).
It’s sad to see this.
This month marks Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month.
Despite facing discrimination in many areas of life, our Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities have long contributed to life in our capital and today we celebrate that rich legacy.
In retrospect, it's clear that the Supreme Court's "Citizens United" decision was an unmitigated catastrophe for our political system. It allowed the inflows of vast amounts of corporate and lobbyist money, totally corrupting and destroying what was already a fragile structure. "Leaders" and representatives now do what their contributors tell them to do, not what is in the best interests of the nation. It's pure corruption, and completely at odds with what the Founding Fathers intended. And it's not going to change, until the whole rotten structure comes crashing down.
Pope Urban VI gave this banner to Italian mercenary commander Alberico da Barbiano after he defeated a force of foreign (French and Breton) mercenaries at the Battle of Marino (1379).
LI IT AB EXT = "LIberata ITalia AB Exteris"
(Italy Liberated from the Foreigners/Barbarians)
In Scandinavia, this makes total sense. Our fictional friend Ragnar Lothbrok took the treacherous trip across the North Sea for... more fertile land. He was a farmer after-all. Of course he also did this to be Viking, but that more for pretense and optics. He was a simple farmer.
We always talk about the spread of farming as a one-way street where hunter-gatherers get wiped out.
In Neolithic Scandinavia, the exact opposite happened.
Around 4000 BC, Anatolian farming ancestry arrived in Sweden via the Funnelbeaker culture. They cleared forests, planted crops, and established agricultural settlements.
Then the archaeological record shows a bizarre reversal.
A few centuries later, a new group called the Pitted Ware Culture appeared along the coastlines.
Mainstream archaeology long assumed these were just local farmers who abandoned their crops to become fishermen.
The ancient DNA showed something else entirely.
Many of them were genetically dominated by ancestry from Scandinavian Hunter-Gatherers. They expanded down from the north and east, successfully reclaiming the coastlines from the agriculturalists.
For over a thousand years, these two populations lived side-by-side in the same regions.
They traded tools and pottery, but their genomes show they maintained an almost total genetic barrier for many centuries.
It is one of the only known examples in Europe where specialized foragers successfully outcompeted and displaced an established farming network.
