To all our colleagues, primary and secondary care, porter to cleaner through junior staff, consultants and nurses in covid-critical countries who are on the frontline ........ you are the women and men of our generation who will be remembered

LMH completely bedblocked, ED full and ICU full. Staffing shortages across the hospital. Northern suburbs of Adelaide and clinicians deserve better. @SAHealth@marshall_steven#TimeToCare
@pjsouthall 30% pay cut in real terms; colleagues died during pandemic; dreadful verbal abuse about a situation that is not our doing; 1000s of hrs worked for no pay; mass exodus of HCPs + “worried about optics” Sorry but I’d take a pay rise and let DM readers slag me off 🤷♂️ #KnowYourWorth
We need plans not mansplains.
We need targets not horizons.
We need leaders with vision not leaders in the media for the wrong reasons.
We need clarity not hyperbole.
We need simple, consistent, scientific messaging.
If you call Triple Zero you deserve an Ambulance. Our health system is desperately underfunded. 2-years later and the situation is now worse than ever.
When will the Marshall Govt Act? 😥#saparli
I made this plot to contextualize the UK's current wave, with values indexed to their winter peak. Hospitalizations have doubled so far but, at this point, there's a striking divergence between the rise in cases and the rise in hospitalizations and deaths
@StevenMAlderson@trentconsultant I don’t think there is necessarily higher regard for medics, it’s just that there is a large private component to care in Aus and doctors often work in both systems and have a smaller public component to work load
Let's now hope that hospitals pay doctors for the hours actually worked and when they don't, that criminal charges are laid against the executives who use stealing to meet budgets.
Individuals in Victoria who deliberately underpay staff or dishonestly withhold wages could face up to 10 years jail, or fines of more than $200,000. For companies the possible fine can be as high as $1.09 million.

@HealthRegLawyer Yes but then for management to report this doctor to the GMC ? I’d be interested to hear if any of the management team would have gone into a Covid positive room with a surgical mask
This is an utter disgrace - nowhere did any health professional sign up to put themselves in reckless danger because management wouldn’t provide adequate protection. Shame on you faceless cowards in administration
1/ Last year, I tweeted about the first #FitnessToPractise case we'd received arising from a healthcare professional expressing concern about/delaying attending to a COVID+ patient without appropriate PPE. The FtP case rumbles on but the NHS Trust proceedings have now concluded.
