THE TRANSCRIPT THAT SHOULD END HER CAREER On 14 March 2023, Eleanor Williams was sentenced to eight and a half years at Preston Crown Court. She was a convicted perjurer who had fabricated rape allegations against multiple innocent men. She had bought a hammer and used it to beat herself to fabricate injuries. Razzall spent months filming them as poster boys for refugee suffering, then handed them the microphone to accuse their victim of racism. She did not push back. She narrated their innocence in the softest voice the licence fee can buy. Eight years later a jury did the journalism she refused to do. Omar raped a thirteen-year-old girl seven times. Mohammed helped. Eighteen years. Twelve years. The bashful boys of the Newsnight package turned out to be a family firm of child rapists. Razzall was promoted. This week Dan Wootton played the tape back to the country. On her sofa, Jonathan Freedland smeared Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain as "far-right" and "home to xenophobes and racists." Shami Chakrabarti called for a "popular front" against them. Razzall's fearless interrogation consisted of blinking politely. When a Brexiteer sits opposite her she becomes Paxman.
