Always read @thompsonscribe, but especially this exclusive with Steph Curry after the Warriors missed out on LeBron joining them.

In honor of Zach Lowe throwing the first pitch tonight at the Mets game, here's my favorite first pitch story, via the great @SamSmithHoops.

@RidicBowe@samesfandiari I get that part. If you want to be mad about the whiffs on Wiseman, Kuminga, etc. that makes sense. Those were gigantic, franchise altering misses. Specific to this summer though, I don’t see the reason for so much outrage. What would you change?
If it was all a scheme, a planned conspiracy by LeBron James and Co. to drag out free agency and pick Philadelphia, there was a key partner out of the loop: The 76ers. An inside look and how LeBron’s choice came to pass by @TheAthleticNBA https://t.co/9NdJs0CyWJ
LeBron’s decision to go to Philly forces the Warriors to face some hard truths. For the first time in years Steph and co. walk into the new year without championship expectations. https://t.co/wjwCSGaNt8
Can’t believe Wood Tavern in Rockridge is closing. The best pork chop there is. My favorite place to take my family and friends in the Bay. Thanks for all the good meals through the years. Going to get in there a few more times before it’s gone for good. Congrats on a great run.
The Sixers roster looks great on paper -- but if LeBron really wants one more ring why is he going to a team that is reliant on Joel Embiid staying healthy in the postseason?
@olddirty_baroo@robbiegoodwin I just fundamentally don’t agree with moving future 1st rounders to get a little bit better now. The risk isn’t worth the potential reward given the cap situation they’re in. Especially because Steph is 38. But I appreciate the passion from the fan base.
@olddirty_baroo@robbiegoodwin You want to deal a future first round pick or two for an Otto Porter type player and you think that player has the potential to vault them back towards the top of the West if Steph and Jimmy are healthy? We must have been watching different teams last year.
@olddirty_baroo@robbiegoodwin Again, picks have never been more valuable than they are right now. So you want to give away the ability to potentially get significantly better in the future to get marginally better for a team that just finished as the 10 seed?
@robbiegoodwin I understand the frustration. But there is absolutely no way I give up three 1s for Murphy. Steph is an alltime great but he’s also 38 with a lingering knee issue. You make that trade and your future is set. Fans may not like it, but I understand why they are making these choices
@robbiegoodwin First round picks have never been more valuable than they are right now. But let’s play it out — they give up three 1s for Murphy. So now your team is Steph, Murphy, Jimmy, Draymond and no future picks. Why would you want them to do that? They are better, but not that much better
Yaxel Lendeborg looks like he’s going to fit just fine with the Warriors this season. The player he modeled himself after as he grew into his own game is the same one the Warriors are still trying to land at the end of free agency. https://t.co/Na4LJ8DE0R
