Never forget the people who sought asylum in Australia, were denied procedural fairness at sea, and could not access high powered legal teams. They were turned back to face death, persecution or arbitrary imprisonment in a brutal denial of their rights.
Our legal fight for access under #FOI to documents about the failed #Robodebt scheme concludes today. The hearing can be viewed by the public, details here: https://t.co/EEKR6eW0rr Closing submissions for @jpwarren from 1:30pm.
"However, [a Charter of Human Rights] would play a critical role in identifying the rights that we hold fundamental to a humane society, and provide a tool to challenge the infringement of these rights."

A massive congrats to Regina, Vivienne and Heather, my three powerhouse clients on being each named a Human Rights Hero for their fight to protect the Flinders Ranges from a nuclear waste dump 🙌
We are proud to work with and represent these three powerful Adnyamathanha women in their fight to protect their country. Congratulations to Regina, Heather and Vivenne and all the other finalists for their contributions.

Last week, the Federal Government announced they would not be going ahead with a proposed nuclear waste dump in the Flinders Ranges. The proposed site is culturally significant to the Traditional Owners.
