Straight outta Urmston, crazy muddy funster called Lefthand, from a gang called middle aged chaps with attitude. Damn, that stuff was dope (apparently)
@markhalliwell4@UtdBeforFergie He was fucking shite, sorry Garth. As was Peter Davenport, Garry Birtles, Terry Gibson etc etc. They have all played more times for Manchester United than I have, however 🤷♂️
@TaintlessRed It’s how Liverpool ruined my footballing life in the late 70s and most of the 80s - no sentiment just incredible attention to detail to ensure the team always moved forwards despite their dominance. Sir Alex picked up the baton (1995 etc) and (unfortunately) Pep too, latterly.
@KevinMcNamar123 I Can See For Miles
The Real Me
Substitute
Behind Blue Eyes
Won’t Get Fooled Again
My Dad’s favourites - these songs are part of my DNA.
@utdnem Ryan Giggs - whilst I never saw Best play live, my old man told me he had plenty of stinkers - as did Giggs (not that YouTube would let you believe it). Giggs’s longevity in a team that was always challenging for the very top trophies, for me, has to give him the nod?
@batcountry1980 Of course, I meant to say that if you don’t get it then the song is NOT for you 😂. Squeeze lyrics are beyond criticism as far as I’m concerned. Best lyricists since Lennon & McCartney for me.
@batcountry1980 Incredible - yet again you’ve nailed it, thank you. Your point about “incubatorgate” is spot on; if you don’t get it, then this song is for you.
I will never not listen to this song if it comes on - anywhere, anytime.
@Bus_stop_ratbag Somehow managed to blag a gig DJing at the student union in 89/90 and played the 12 inch of this which was actually on a 7 inch disc. Played it at 45, not realising it should have been played at 33! Fortunately, no one else realised.
@Jay318_utd Or, more simplistically - watching United under Amorim, shite, can’t beat crap like Wolves or Burnley. Watching United under Carrick, less shite - chance of the odd goal 🤷♂️, some entertainment. Better.
@DexxterUtd We took his brilliance for granted for sure. 2010 before his injury against Bayern he was unstoppable - possibly the best player in the world at that moment…
