Though things have gotten better (in the U.S at least), for a long time, all we had was our own community, so a lot of ppl (like Jason) become accustomed to having other gay ppl around to support him, hence why not having that is draining

Also, teachers do such important work teaching foundational lessons to kids & deserve their break; not to mention that a lot of teachers get paid so poorly they need summer jobs.
