@TheArsenalMind He is such a great player. Game changer. But I'm not sure his body can cope with the way we play. AI tells me he has missed 44 games over two seasons. It is too much. Too disruptive. So if a good profit, then yes
@mzlrftv2 I do think it feels that way as Arteta’s systems are specifically designed to rely on the collective. At Palace the system was designed for him. But I think that is his final puzzle piece - allow forward flair and freedom
@tomfahy93@Hucklegooner@spencermorgan93 Ultimately winning it, by definition, makes a team the 37th best in Europe with the league format. It is like getting promoted from the Championship. It is better than the Conference League though. The prize is CL qualification. Not the trophy
@Gravitygunner14 It happens. But the sort of moment where Arteta thinks ‘I have to upgrade’. Like Eze didn’t play left wing for months after Cash-gate and I think only once or twice again.
@GroggyGunner@thebottomcorna@SamWallaceTel I think the previous 5 seasons evidence that proposition. You clearly think that his recent season means he cannot be considered the best player. I don't think one weak season rules him out of that. We can agree to disagree. Rice, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber have a stronh case
@GroggyGunner@thebottomcorna@SamWallaceTel I think that is because you can’t write off a player who has performed consistently outstandingly for years. I don’t think the sample size is big enough to think otherwise. If, this time next year, we are having the same conversation, I get it.
@thebottomcorna Jesus because he is done at PL level. Gyok and Havertz give us different things not least because Havertz can play deeper. Gyok does something no one else in our squad.
@GroggyGunner@thebottomcorna@SamWallaceTel I think you have to look at Saka over a longer period. Since 2020. He has not been quite the same since his injury. But obviously if he performs similarly next year I’d reassess.
@TheArsenalFan1w He won’t play enough. Clearly Mikel doesn’t think he is the finished article in that crucial position. I do wish he could go on loan though.
