The commodification and financialisation of housing is totally against the common good. This neoliberal crap must be stamped out. Where your children lay their heads should not be an exercise in greed.
@isaiah_bb If you’re paying $4k a month for child care that isn’t even your kid anymore you’re just paying child support to their real parent who actually spends time with em lol
@squidfgc I am privileged bro. I have a decent enough job and a beautiful family. It’s not about putting people down. It’s about recognizing what you have. Some people are being crushed by life right now. It’s about seeing that we have good things and consider those who aren’t and don’t.
@sporadica @ThuleanFuturist Y’all are the ones disconnected from divinity. You think what’s holy is only expressed through the human form? Even the most fundamental chemical expressions show the true face of god. A computer working an algorithm can be just as divine as any brain.
@aditya_baradwaj Ultimately we organize society around what is best for people not what is most productive. It might be more productive to force everyone to work 90 hour weeks but it would violate their human rights. IP violates expression rights and so it’s a no-go even if it is productive.
@aditya_baradwaj There are many incentives to discover and build things without IP. Fame or benefit to society are strong motivators. Look at the open source software community as an example. Discoverer also has a strong market advantage even without any protections.
Fundamentally this right here is the conflict in America. There are those who want consistent annual growth and those who want to live in peace. Infinite growth is the mindset of cancerous infection and it’s antithetical to the concept of prosperous living.
HASSETT: "If we get 3% growth, then that increases revenue by $4T, which is WAY more than the deficit increase that CBO estimates for the cost of the bill. So, this bill by itself is going to reduce the deficit, but we're also coming after spending BIG with rescissions packages."
@moultano The oligarchs are the ones getting paid $10 billion dollars to not build the train. You need to think about this more.
Sometimes a house just falls down but sometimes it’s termites. Our house has termites. They’re easy to deal with as long as we admit they’re here and act.
@krishnanrohit Tech is forced on us. Most kids are given smartphones and computers whether they want them or not. Workers don’t have the choice to give up smartphones and computers because they are required for modern jobs.
