@StandardBankZA In addition, I had unblocked my card for overseas travel. Anyone with any sense could conclude that blocking a card without checking first immediately before overseas travel might be inconvenient to the traveler.
@StandardBankZA thank you for deleting my credit card from my banking profile a few hours before international travel. And then keeping me waiting for more than 30 mins on your "help" line. Still no answer. You can consider our relationship terminated.
@StandardBankZA Unless I can have a working credit card in the next 2 hours, there is nothing you can do right now. I was apparently sent an in-app message last night that the card was being blocked. There was no call, no SMS that gave me the opportunity to verify any transactions.
#flysafair your booking system sucks. App doesn't allow me to manage flight changes. Make changes online. Website hangs. I call your call centre. Wait for ages. Get cut off moments after the call begins. God forbid you maintain the aircraft like this.
#FastwayCouriersSA Trying to reschedule parcel delivery from Cape Town depot. No one answers the phone. The email address does not work. How on earth do you expect to conduct business??? Sick of lousy customer service.
@crimemind3 This must be satire. The billionaire president of a soon-to-be banana republic pledging to support countries facing liquidity challenges while his own people sit without food, homes or jobs. The "let them eat (cup)cake" moment cannot be far away.
Stop aiming for happiness.
The ancient Greeks had a concept called Eudaimonia. They knew happiness was fleeting. Instead, they aimed for deep-seated joy.
Eudaimonia comes from:
• Living virtuously (courage, temperance, wisdom, and justice)
• Being rational
• Pursuing a purpose (telos)
• Embracing balance
• Seeking wisdom
These things won’t necessarily make you happy in the moment. But shape your life around them and you’ll feel calm and content.
Isn’t that the point?
@geordinhl The residents of Kalk Bay have repeatedly asked city officials to clear the dense bush on the mountainside behind the village. It poses a clear and present fire hazard. We get pushed from one official to another. No one takes responsibility. #lafires2025
@ComputicketSAYour customer chat does not work, and your email contact system does not work. I paid for a gift food voucher as a Christmas gift, which was never delivered. Good to know we can rely on you to get the job done. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
@jeandre_lennox@33BlindMice Makes perfect sense. By way of an analogy, if you own a farm that is being attacked by deadly infestation, you would save whatever viable crops you could so that they could be used to reseed the farm once the infestation has been eradicated.
@AllisonFarah3@runawayrene Actually we do. 155mm artillery shells and propellant. Lots. Not so long ago we had some of the best artillery systems in the world.
@Phiri13Williams@philcraig2 It's not an issue of "can't manufacture", but "can't manufacture fast enough." They are using it faster than they can make it. Quite possibly we gave them some of our stocks of 155mm artillery shells and propellant. We have no use for it, and it expires after a while.
@richardquest The entire country should be put under international administration. The demographics prevent any constitutionally legal resolution to the catastrophe we face. The deliberate and criminal destruction of an entire country is a human rights abomination.
