@_drobban @vermaden Far from everything is built in elixir. In fact, most stuff I get to sysadmin for is built in Java, because that is how the world looks.

I'm my experience, automatic restarts obscures the issue at hand, and hides the info I need far away in logs (instead of saying at the end).

@Karn_Evil_999 Also, black screen with cursor can simply be twm (it's the default window manager of X if nothing else manages to start).
How are you starting kde?

@Karn_Evil_999 You should never run X as root. Check dmesg (it's a command), /var/log/messages and /var/log/Xorg.log.1 or similar if there are anything that seem relevant.
