Looking back I am hurt, angry & stand by the Natives as their stories are forgotten in many schools. Their needs to be a counterstory. Whether through a book written by Natives or a video. Or even a guest Native speaker. Something different needs to be done. 3/

I think it is very important to acknowledge the Natives and their histories. Growing up my dad would always take us to a Powwow before Thanksgiving to remind us of their history and stories. #socofed #thanksgiving 1/

In schools I remember my teachers would always have a history day of whichever Holiday that was coming up, but for Thanksgiving the stories were only told from the Pilgrims perspective. 2/
