Four years ago, I invested ~$40M and got involved helping build a small publicly listed company in Canada called Perimeter Medical.
Why?
They were trying to build an AI enabled device to help doctors do cancer surgeries better: take a tumor out from a patient, analyze it with AI while still in the surgical theater and tell with precision if all the cancer was taken out. If yes, close the patient up. If not, go back and get all the cancer.
Well, we got FDA approval today!!
Our product, Claire, became the FIRST FDA-approved AI-enabled imaging device for breast cancer surgery. We also got Breakthrough Designation.
Currently, ~20% of women face repeat surgeries because surgeons "didn't get it all". What’s even worse is that they typically don’t find out for 10 days after the surgery until pathology has reviewed the resected tumor. That is 10 days of waiting and worrying for patients.
Claire’s real-time AI + OCT tech delivers 10x the resolution of standard X-rays, identifying suspicious tissue during a surgery so surgeons can act immediately.
Claire is now a regulated tool that sits in the workflow, in real time, while a surgeon is operating. It is just the start for what this platform can do for cancer care.
We will first focus on ~300,000 breast cancer surgeries per year in the U.S., and then grow into other solid tumors over time.
From a systems perspective, it’s also what “real AI” looks like: invisible to the patient, indispensable to the clinician, and measured in fewer surgeries and better treatment experience .
Congratulations to @adrianvmendes and the @perimetermed team.

It is deeply troubling that @rubysahotalib & @randeepssarai misled the House of Commons regarding Bills C-2 and C-12 by claiming they prevent EXTORTIONISTS from applying for ASYLUM.
🔗 Find me the text that says so: https://t.co/IKONCWoDOh
TRUTH: 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖-𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖-𝟭𝟮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘂𝗺 solely on the basis of having committed a serious crime. (I am not talking about conviction because Asylum cases are filed at commission of CRIME.)
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼: An individual enters Canada on a study permit, work permit, or visitor visa with no genuine intent to study or work. Within their first year, they commit a criminal offence. Under the current framework of Bills C-2 and C-12, that same individual remains eligible to file an asylum claim even after committing the crime.
𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀.
So the question is straightforward: 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗮 & 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘂𝗺? Or will they APOLOGIZE to the Community for standing in the House and advancing a narrative that shields criminals instead of protecting Canadians?
Someone from HR just asked if I can "quickly" transfer all their files from their old laptop to their new one.
I said sure. Told them it'll take about 4 hours because of the data transfer speed and verification process.
Reality? It takes 45 minutes. I run a script, it copies everything, done.
But I learned a long time ago: never tell people how easy something is.
Because if they know it's easy, they'll ask you to do it all the time. For everyone. Forever.
So I tell them it's 4 hours. They say "oh wow, okay, whenever you have time."
Then I do it in 45 minutes, but I don't tell them it's done until hour 3.
They think I dropped everything to help them. They're grateful. They tell their manager I went "above and beyond."
Meanwhile, I spent 2 hours watching YouTube and eating snacks.
The secret to good customer service isn't speed. It's managing expectations so you always exceed them.
Under-promise, over-deliver. Corporate 101.
Except I'm not really over-delivering. I'm just lying about the timeline.
But tomato, tomahto.
Proud of our Army 💪
*A Heartwarming Story From Indian Army*
One Grizzly Bear (Himalayan Brown Bear) family used to visit us at xxxx post in Siachen. Initially, only during nights.
We started keeping food for the family.
Their confidence in us developed over a period, and they even started coming during day.
There was also a bear cub about an year old. It used to come with his mother, but after about 6 months, it was either deserted by the mother or got lost. Then it started roaming alone, but it had problems, since the dogs in the post wouldn't let it come close.
When we saw this, we started tying the dogs. The confidence grew and it started to come close.
We named him Bahadur after the Company's name- Bahadur Company.
For a few days, we couldn't see Bahadur. One day, one of my posts, which used get cut off due to 60 feet of snow, reported that Bahadur is roaming around with his head stuck in a tin box.
This post was about 800 metres from my Company Headquarter.
I took 6 boys with me and went to rescue the bear myself. It's not that I wasn't concerned about boys safety; but I still decided to do the rescue.
When we reached the place, the bear was roaming with the tin box around its head, over a cornice probably without food for last 3 days. It was making circles on the cornice. _(Cornice - An overhanging mass of hardened snow at the edge of a mountain precipice.)_
Basically, cornice is a false extension of ground made by hard snow over a period of time, and it can't take too much weight.
It can break off and can lead to an Avalanche.
So, it was very difficult to go closer to the bear to rescue it.
I found the lightest boy from my group and briefed him to go close to the bear and tie the rope around his neck.
We also tied a rope to the waist also to pull him in case the cornice breaks down.
This boy was nervous to get close to the bear.
After about over 3 mins, I decided to rescue the bear on my own.
The bear was approached by me on my knees and I pulled him out of the cornice as quickly as possible to avoid breaking off the cornice.
After bringing the bear to safety, we tied it with ropes to take it to our xxxx post, where we could release him after removing the tin box.
It took almost a kind of surgery to cut the tin box without damaging the ears and neck of the bear.
We gave him food and released him after taking all safety precautions. When we released him, he didn't go away for a good 3 hours.
But after that it became part of my Company.
Whenever we shouted his name -Bahadur, it always appeared from nowhere.
It still comes to the post for food.
Although the Story is very Heartwarming, please do also take a moment to appreciate the very difficult conditions and the environment the Indian Army is guarding our Borders. Furthermore, do also see and acknowledge the accommodation they are staying with bare minimum amenities. It takes a special kind of men to do this.
A big Salute to the Soldiers of the Indian Army. Jai Hind!

🆘 Shut down the International Student Program from India—𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆.
The Indian community in Canada is in distress, and 𝘄𝗲’𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀.
The damage will be catastrophic if action isn’t taken now.
𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. 🙏🏼
I don't think people realise the depth of the tragedy that has happened. For me this is just unimaginable.
A flight full of people that took off from Ahmedabad went down in flames killing nearly everyone on it. Including infants and children. Whole families wiped out (I find some solace in knowing that some families, all of them, died together, and none was left behind to live a life full of emptiness)
The ball of metal and fire then showered down on a major medical college hostel and canteen killing many undergraduate students, interns and senior residents.
Students were taking their lunch break, waiting to go back to class or the hospital to learn and attend to patients.
They had spent the majority of their lives reading and learning and painstakingly cracking the medical entrance exams are living their dream.
Some of them would have recently joined, taking loans and sacrificing so much. Including their parents. It was all of their dreams that went down in flames and rubble.
I see many accounts throwing conspiracy theories, playing the blame game, indulging in divisive politics, creating misinformation about what happened and others sharing gory images and details from the tragedy.
I wish we were more civilized and caring. We are humans first and humanism eclipses everything else. Let us share resources that can be helpful to those in need and their families.

It's a fact that can't be denied — Pakistan's DGMO called India's DGMO and asked to stop the war. Please retweet so people in Pakistan can understand the reality.
Shame that @SkyNews is doing the kind of research that our mainstream news channels should have done.
Instead of focusing their MASSIVE resources on exposing terror in Pakistan - they are blaring sirens in their studios & creating panic nowhere else but India.
Operation #CyberShakti Phase 1:
A massive cyber attack was launched against the terrorist state Pakistan by the regular every day civilians of India.
This costed Pakistan millions of dollars in damages in the last 24hrs alone.
Our mission is simple: to decimate every last piece of Pakistan’s digital infrastructure with ABSOLUTELY ZERO RESTRAINT.
Here’s a small glimpse of the things we can share with the public as of now:
I had a child “diagnosed” with ADHD several years ago. The immediate reaction of the people involved was to prescribe drugs.
We refused.
Absolutely under no circumstances were we going to let our pre-pubescent child take amphetamines which is what these ADHD drugs are.
More generally, I found the diagnosis process shoddy, the availability of resources for my child (tutors, executive function help etc) to be scattered and expensive and the desire of the school to “solve” the problem lazy and reductive (sit alone, go take tests in a separate place, have more time on assignments and feel isolated from peers).
It can’t be the case that so many of our kids have ADHD and are then put through this.
I find it more plausible that economic incentives drove an entire industry to spring up around an FDA approved drug that, looking back, mostly doesn’t work. People make money diagnosing it, tutoring around it, coaching around it, etc etc
This has done decades of damage to kids.
Here is a summary from Grok of a great article in the NYT.

Dear @PiyushGoyal@PiyushGoyalOffc
I run a 100 people software company from #Burhanpur MP, I bring M$+ / yr to Bpur economy & I am the largest white collar employer in #Burhanpur.
Since you've been talking about how Indian #startups are not innovating enough, I'd like to ask
Canadian conservatives, here’s some unsolicited advice for you.
Stop being so easy on your candidates, especially @PierrePoilievre!
Stop assuming they’re automatically going to win.
Stop being so over cautious and scared of what the liberal media in 🇨🇦 will do to your candidate. (That’s the old COVID era mindset.)
Stop walking on egg shells trying to run a campaign in the old school consultant driven, wear this tie, get this haircut, wear that shirt BS.
Grow some 🏀 🏈.
Trump worked his ass off.
He didn’t have all conservatives, libertarians or the independents till the last 90 days.
But he went and EARNED every single one of their votes.
He went on 20+ podcasts appearances not including a ton of campaign & media stops.
And he did this at the age of 78.
Pierre is 45 years old campaigning like his Biden’s age.
He’s a great speaker.
He’s talented.
But DAMN he comes across as lazy, pompous and entitled.
I initially wanted to help him but at this point my concern is more about the people whom I love in Canada to get a candidate that will fight for THEM.
I had Max on but for whatever reason Canada is treating him the way US did RFK Jr. I respect the hell out of his willingness to talk.
This may be your last chance at strengthening the relationship with US or the ship may sail.
Here’s are a list of people I would BEG for your candidate to go on.
Tucker Carlson
Lex Friedman
Shawn Ryan
Piers Morgan
Cuomo
Theo Von
Full Send
Candace
Glenn Beck
The breakfast club
Ben Shapiro
Charlie Kirk
Matt Walsh
Dave Rubin
Russell Brand
Outkick
Dr Phil
Andrew Schultz
And of course, Joe Rogan. (Beg if you must)
Maybe even ask if Musk would consider doing a twitter space with him. Long shot but YOU must ask.
Most of the names above won’t be interested because they’re all busy with a ton of guests who want to get on but….
Hold Pierre’s foot to the 🔥.
Stop being so easy on him.
Tag him and his entire campaign team on this thread.
It drives me crazy seeing all the ass kissing, as if he’s already won.
Push him.
Challenge him.
The future of Canada is predicated on YOU holding him accountable.
I hear some Canadians say “Why should Pierre go on podcasts in the US?”
They say “It’s a waste of his time.” 🤦🏽♂️
What they don’t understand is that these podcasts cut clips that will be shared on all social media platforms. (X, TikTok, Insta, FB & YT)
That’s how Trump dominated the news & social media cycle.
Time is running out. ⏳ ⌛️
