"Crypto bros ... made over a trillion dollars out of thin air," @BradSherman says at a U.S. House hearing today.
"They'll accuse the U.S. government of making money out of thin air. Maybe we do, but we're the U.S. government."

🚨BREAKING!!!!!
@GOPMajorityWhip TORCHING Gary Gensler and highlighting his and the SEC's complete and utter failure to protect ANY retail investors whatsoever
And lack of regulatory clarity + hostile enforcement against crypto in the US is pushing innovation offshores including but not limited to China
Gensler should be removed immediately.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT THIS TIME
During the Covid crisis, did bitcoin have its moment? Not really, it nuked harder than anything instead of acting as a safe haven—and then traded like a junk risk stock on steroids, mooning at the same time as dogecoin and monkey jpegs.
During the Russia-Ukraine invasion, did bitcoin have its moment? Not really, interest rates shot through the roof and bitcoin once again traded like a junk risk asset, dropping 65% over the year.
This is the only time over the past few years where we've had a clean price <> narrative coalition. The market signal is clear and undeniable, with bitcoin decoupling from all other assets, even outperforming its own riskier crypto counterparts.
Bitcoin is—seemingly for the first time—working as safe haven asset in response to the traditional banking system and in response to a globally unreliable & jerky central bank monetary policy.

A complete guide to Etherscan and a bonus list of alpha threads 🧵:
The 10%+ average return for stocks is a lie. It uses the massive bull run in the past few decades to calculate it. Going 100 years back many of the top economies stock markets would have done terribly, using US returns is survivorship bias. Speaking of which,

Well said. There was no way to register (a disingenuous offer).
“Using enforcement actions to tell people what the law is in an emerging industry is not an efficient or fair way of regulating.”
Full respect to reliable and trustworthy CEX that despite all the 'regulatory' risks still takes action to implement new products and actually being the responsible ones that provide us investors with a safe environment to trade and invest crypto and progress this new landscape
Rather than putting in the effort to provide regulatory clarity, @SECGov and @GaryGensler spends time making up their own rules as they go, just so they can penalize reputable CEX when it suits them, this rigged way of operations is what's hindering crypto innovations
Thank you. Some guidance would be appreciated. The “This is wrong but I won’t tell you how to do it right. Want to find out if X works? Try it and see what happens.” approach does not help the industry nor consumers. We aren’t anti-regulation but we need a clear path to operate.
