@phone3301 I agree he is incorrect but as a mathematician I intuitively (but not formally) understand what is an epsilon push of existing ideas and what is a major new idea and I find it difficult to believe that token prediction can do the latter. Not really any examples so far either

All I can say is that even the best work by LLMs so far (even the one thats going on Annals) seem curiously cannibalized from existing ideas in a way that best human mathematics doesnt
