At this time Emergency crews are on the scene after a small plane crashed at Kalispell City Airport in Montana. Initial reports indicate the aircraft encountered a problem on the runway before veering off and colliding with another small plane on the taxiway. The number of passengers on board either aircraft remains unknown, and authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of any injuries or fatalities.

Totally implausible, but wouldn't you know it, that same night she just so happened to back into a truck and cause damage to make that theory seem likely. What absolutely rotten luck. Guilty verdicts are a strange thing. When you're a prosecutor in your first trial and the jury comes back, you think you're going to be excited, exhilarated. But then you hear the word "guilty," and a bunch of different emotions hit you. Relief, yes. Pride at a job well done. But something else, too--sadness.

Crime is almost always senseless and the justice system imperfect. A guilty verdict does not undo the damage of crime. It cannot bring back victims. New victims are created, as the family of the perpetrator now watch their loved one go off to prison, maybe for the rest of their life. Even a just verdict is a solemn thing, as it should be.

But that doesn't mean that justice shouldn't be celebrated. Proverbs 21:15 says, "When justice is done it brings joy to the righteous and terror to the evildoers." Today, rejoice that justice has come to the murderer of Abigail "Abby" Williams and Liberty "Libby" German. Pray for peace for their family.
