[The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center @TheKingCenter]

🧵 The King Center remembers Dr. Charles Stanley. He was a prominent Atlanta pastor and founder of In Touch Ministries. After, Dr. King declared, "I think it is one of the tragedies of our nation, one of the shameful tragedies…

[City of Atlanta, GA @CityofAtlanta]

Dr. Charles Stanley was one of Atlanta's most influential faith leaders. Mayor @andreforatlanta offers his condolences to the Stanley family, the @InTouchMin family and all those touched by Dr. Stanley's global ministry.

@Chrissiekuun Couldn't agree with you more! Another one of my favorites, "As children of a sovereign God, we are never victims of our circumstances." Insight for Living sent that to me on a bookmark and I've kept it all these years.

@InTouchMin I received this oak tree as a small potted plant from Dr. Charles Stanley after a service in 2008. 15 years later it stands tall in our backyard. He often quoted this scripture: “absent from the body, present with the Lord”. You are present with our Lord now, RIP.🙏🏾

[Nicole Rice @nikkig484]

So sad to hear about the passing of Dr. Charles Stanley today.😢He had such a profound influence on my life. My constant instructor on the Christian faith since I began following Christ at 16 years. He is with our Savior now. So many have been blessed by his faithful service.

[In Touch Ministries @InTouchMin]

In Touch Family, this morning, God called our beloved pastor, Dr. Charles Stanley, home to heaven. Dr. Stanley lived a life of obedience and is now receiving the joy of his soul—seeing his Savior face-to-face. Please join us in praying for the Stanley family.
