@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk Yeah sure, but stating that people in Germany are put in jail for criticizing politicians is just wrong. We currently have a pretty good rule of law and democracy which both are threatened by the rise of far right parties such as the AfD.
@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk The freedom of one ends where the harm to other begins. So there should be no doubt about prosecution under criminal law in these cases.
@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk To be honest, that’s exactly the answer I’ve expected and I don’t see anything wrong with that. I mean it states that “when their statements are deemed to cross legal boundaries”. Hate speech, slander amongst other criminal offenses are punishable and I think that’s fair.
@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk I just want to verify the case: can you share an article that claims that? Also, the UK quit the EU and therefore doesn’t underly European rights and values. What’s happening there shouldn’t be confused with what’s happening with states of the EU.
@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk I think you have confused this with Russia, in Germany we have a well-functioning constitutional state that certainly does not arrest critics without reason.
That’s just a false claim.
@RobertBeecroft2 @Bibilotta5@naomiseibt@elonmusk You can't claim everything under the guise of free speech like Trump does, while obviously spreading lies to influence the masses
@RobertBeecroft2 @Bibilotta5@naomiseibt@elonmusk Just checked, wasn’t aware that they were involved in getting posts moderated/removed. I’m against removing posts that contain critics, but I actually do support the part of removing misleading/wrong information.
@RobertBeecroft2 @Bibilotta5@naomiseibt@elonmusk Social media has a great power to influence people and therefore it should be regulated as to sticking to the facts and flagging/removing obviously wrong or misleading information.
@RobertBeecroft2 @Bibilotta5@naomiseibt@elonmusk Why should Biden take away freedom of speech? Did you have limited freedom while he was president? And how did that change, now that Trump is in power? Also, do you think it’s good for a state if the richest man on earth gets political power? I see it very critically.
@RobertBeecroft2 @tokr72@naomiseibt@elonmusk Now you really gotta explain why there is limited freedom of speech in Germany. I never heard anyone seriously stating they cannot express their opinion here freely. Democracy and separation of powers is still working pretty good here, I’m wondering how that continues in the US.
