@FrimlLab Yes, he had a strong personality, but was a true scientist at heart. I remember him complaining that I didn’t cite some of his papers. I told him I can’t access them. The next day (!) a FedEx arrived in California with All the reprints 😄

A new story from our lab! What if we could stimulate two receptors in exactly the same cell type? Would they actually be able to keep their specific outputs separate? Or would their respective signals be confounded into a single, mixed output? 1/9
And - it - is - finally - out ! A great story from @TerezaYan - in case you haven’t seen it yet. Again, congratulations to all involved!https://t.co/LHr6dVTvuz
Root biology just got an enormous boost! Both @bradylabs and @Dinnenylab named HHMI investigators - what a great recognition for two amazing scientists, mentors and leaders in our field!
We are hiring! Postdoctoral position in root nodule symbiosis @UNIL, Switzerland🇨🇭. Please RT. #PlantSciJobs. For more info visit: https://t.co/Z9JeZVgyVv. Please apply via the portal.
Insane that an economics professor would claim “technologies can’t eliminate poverty.”
The Green Revolution was all about technology:
- high-yielding variety seeds
- chemical fertilizers
- pesticides & herbicides
- mechanization
- irrigation techniques
This is basic history.
Dear Plant Biology community 🌿
I'm glad to announce I will be rectuiting the first PhD student of my lab at the University of Neuchâtel 🇨🇭

Working title “Secrets of a Gene Body”:
In our latest preprint we provide evidence for largely cell-autonomous (sic) action of the brassinosteroid receptor BRI1, which is necessary across multiple tissues to drive root growth.

Yan Ma is the newest group leader at the GMI. Her group will investigate how insects induce gall formation in plants. Find out more about her research and why she joined the GMI: https://t.co/SC20FFQ71u
Finally online! First paper from lab! I’m so happy this work found a great home @embojournal read all about how a root barrier does more than just selection! It also signals to the shoot! - a feature thats hidden until you put it plants on a “real” soil
