just for the sake of archival posts, can you no longer see old posts when visiting a users profile? i hadn't posted here since april, and this is what i saw today. what if i wanted to see old posts? is there any UI for that or did the team just say "fuck it"
is this what i think it is? instead of giving the size(s) or size range for the actual stickers, they gave me the dimensions of a (single color) pile of them. what am i supposed to do with this information, lol
search icon also does nothing when you tap on it. just an absolute joke of a “mobile one pager” that doesn’t work on mobile for the website for the fucking white house. for posterity and future reference, here’s a wayback snapshot: https://t.co/AYjricXmle
https://t.co/NTGMhgqyLJ why does the whitehouse site look and work like absolute garbage on mobile? the top menu button doesn’t do anything, the administration section w. it’s tiny off-center title doesn’t scroll and is visually cut off. random “site link” banners are paired 2get
how do i stop these stupid fucking purple sparkle icon notifications??? every time i open this cursed app there’s a stupid amount of them from accounts i don’t even recognize. what the actual hell.
i’m just here in 2025 to say reddit now has ads within comment sections, but it’s still not as bad of a design job as that screenshot. they are very clearly ads, and don’t look like comments. with the text floated left and an image floated right, they are easy to identify.
suuuper gross. twitter now sticks ads in between replies on threads. the only indicator that it’s not a normal reply to the parent tweet is the tiny “ad” in the top right.
reddit does something similar, but in a not gross way by keeping the ad in a standard placement at the top
anyway, i came here to mention i was reading the new stephen king shorts collection and was reminded of one of my fav sites in the early days of web design: the qbee. it was a pixel art trading club, based around the idea of a quilted blanket, and it was huge. sshot from wayback.
why can’t i turn off this new type of in-app notification that is just random posts. why is that even a notification, and why does it get a badge count? it feels like a weird and really cheap change. i logged in today and it said “18 notifications” …. all of them random posts.
also, looking at the stats around the circle flag in the gear and the flag in front of the dog, seems like AI was used to generate some of this monstrosity. they really couldn’t even have someone go in and copy and paste some basic ass stars?
does he also think if he takes something else incredibly complex and lengthy in “words”, such as the programming of an operating system and just… arbitrarily makes it a significantly less amount of words [code] it’ll automatically be better? i don’t get the issue with words.
for all the nonsense he said he’s found so far… musk had this whole weird website put together to complain that there are too many um, words, laying out regulation info? am i reading this right?

i am sooo into this wikipedia layout for landscape tablet. table of contents on the left, appearance settings on the right (i love large text for digital reading and i don’t care how uncool it is)
