We've been clear from the start - @NYCMayor's 30/60-Day Directives are about causing chaos. Now, we're seeing asylum seekers leave their shelters only to be denied a new placement. This is a clear violation of Right-To-Shelter and must be addressed.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Guerreras moms around me! Members, partners, allies! It’s a honor to fight along your side🫡
Feliz día de las madres a todas las mamás en nuestra membresía, sindicato y aliadas!💛 @NICE4Workers@averyniceunion
Aprendo de y con ustedes a diario 🫂💪🏽
An Eastern coyote resting in Central Park last night. I was tipped off to the sighting of this beauty by a friend. It may be the same coyote seen widely here two years ago and spotted irregularly after by dog walkers and Park workers.

@NICE4Workers@RedFarmNYC
+14 restaurant workers -mostly women- mistreated, harassed, forced to work in unsafe conditions! Wage theft, no payment of overtime, or sick time, often humiliated & insulted!Testimonies are devastating. SHAME on @RedFarmNYC! We will come back until we get justice & respect ✊🏽
We’re not asking for generosity or compassion. We are asking for JUSTICE. It’s simple, @RedFarmNYC - if you use the labor of immigrants to prop up your business THEN YOU SHOULD PAY AND TREAT THEM FAIRLY. Stop wage theft now!
YA BASTA. Immigrant workers build this city. How many more of us have to die before we are seen as more than a statistic? This horrible death was preventable. This worker and their family have been robbed of so much. Dignity should not be optional. Esto es personal y nos duele.
🚨 Another fallen worker. HOW MANY MORE HAVE TO DIE?! We are tired of mourning our brothers and sisters. A 64-year old worker left for work this am and will never come back home because he wasn’t kept safe while HIS LABOR WAS USED TO BUILD NYC. Workers deserve better. #NiUnoMas
Another development: Congress is asking the Labor Department to resume tracking workplace deaths of migrant children, which it stopped doing under Trump.
We made our own database and found that since 2017, at least a dozen unaccompanied minors were killed doing dangerous jobs.
Asambleas generales with our members are always exciting and inspiring! Last night we talked about our movement and its future. Somos una sola membresía y una sola comunidad y nuestra riqueza está en la unión y solidaridad 🔥💛💪🏽 @NICE4Workers
Over 250 newly arrived immigrants are coming to our Centers every day. @NICE4Workers provides 8-10 orientations & graduates 400 members p/month, among others. We are building, training, organizing & empowering the new workforce of the City. Not giving up on our gente! 💪🏽👊🏽
Worker power is immigrant power! In January, @NICE4Workers trained over 400 immigrant workers in safety ⚠️, worker rights 💪🏾, OSHA, SST, construction skills 🦺 , English, and more.
Thank you to all our members, staff & allies for the fight Nice has led since 2015! Huge victory, and finally some justice!
Gracias y felicidades a toda nuestra membresía, equipo y aliados por el empuje de la Ley de Carlos por años. No olvidaremos y seguiremos peleando por más.
BREAKING: Carlos’s Law has been signed into law by @GovKathyHochul!
This is a huge victory for immigrant workers and for members of NICE who have been fighting for justice for Carlos Moncayo since 2015.
Thank you, governor. This law will save lives!

Dignified jobs, life saving training & worker rights are fundamental to the integration & contribution of new immigrants to our City. And let’s not forget the thousands of immigrants who have fought for CIR for years.
Mucha deuda pendiente. @NICE4Workers
We need our partners in city and state government to help us increase our capacity, find permanent training space, and include us in policy decisions that impact this population.
Together, we can build a pipeline of success for our newest New Yorkers 💛 3/3
But long term support will mean engaging our new neighbors in workforce development training, health and safety training, and worker rights education.
NICE is struggling to keep up increased demand. 2/3
NICE has been informing this since the beginning of the crisis: new arrivals are joining a large pool of undocumented workers who toil in the service and construction industries and who are particularly vulnerable to exploitation”. Our members have known this reality for years.
NICE is featured in @nytimes for our work connecting new immigrants and asylum seekers with dignified jobs and know-your-rights education!
We are proud of the work NICE and our sister orgs have done to welcome them with compassion and respect. 🧵1/3

BREAKING: Our members got their wages back! ✊🏽💪🏽
A week after protesting @usopen and bringing to light their wage theft case, our members got their checks.
When immigrant workers fight, we win!
Rain or shine, @NICE4Workers shows up to fight against wage theft at @usopen! Immigrant workers don’t work for free. We demand our wages and our dignity! The US Open must pay workers what they’re owed.
Thank you @votejgr and @jessicaramos for standing with us ✊🏽
