Probably the worst press conference I have ever seen.

Says "I am not important" and then goes on to count his "achievements" - a drawn series and an ICC Trophy with a team set up by previous coach.

Says "I will not give excuses" and then gives an excuse.

Says "I hate the word transiton" and then says this is transition.

Gives out vague terms on how Test cricket should be played but never takes accountability or accepts his fault.

Blames schedule for lack of preparation but no words on his own chopping and changing that unsettled the team.

One-and-half years after Tamil Nadu govt directing south bound omni buses to move to #Kilambakkam, more than 70% of them still operate inside city wrecking havoc to commuters daily. The govt has no mechansim to reign in on the private bus operators who still allow Koyambedu pick up points in bookings in Red Bus.

Koyambedu has turned into a nightly traffic nightmare, with hundreds of private buses openly flouting government and court orders to shift to Kilambakkam. The result is clogged arterial roads, frustrated commuters and helpless enforcement.

In December 2023, the government ordered all private buses to move to the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus in Kilambakkam, 30 km from the city. In February 2024, the court allowed only operators with depots or garages on private land in Koyambedu to continue. Yet more than 800 buses without depots still operate from the hub.

South-bound buses to Trichy and Madurai park illegally on 100 Feet Road, under the Koyambedu flyover, near SAF Games Village and the metro station. On weekends and festival days, chaos worsens, with commuters saying it takes 20 minutes just to cross the Koyambedu flyover.

Bengaluru-bound buses add to the mess, idling along a 5-km stretch up to Maduravoyal, as the Kuthambakkam terminus near Thirumazhisai is delayed again. More than 300 buses crowd this stretch every day.

Though 1,100 south, west and central-bound buses are mandated to start from Kilambakkam, more than 70% still run from Koyambedu. Operators argue that passengers book tickets here, there is no last-mile connectivity to Kilambakkam, and a metro or rail link is the only solution.

The problem has spread across the city. Operators now pick up passengers at 118 roadside points from Koyambedu to Ashok Nagar, Porur and Guindy. Traffic police say enforcement is nearly impossible with hundreds of buses blocking roads during peak hours.

The government says it is seeking a legal fix to force all operators, including those with garages, out of Koyambedu. At Kuthambakkam, roads, signals and entry points are still under construction and the terminus is expected to be ready by the end of the year.
