Looking forward to attending the book publication of Chelanadevi Khurpe ji today in Sangli!

Shrimati Khurpe undertook great hardships to first educate herself by navigating societal pressure, as well as financial constraints.

She was the first in her family to clear 10th and did not stop till she became a school teacher herself!

In the decades to follow, she was a loved teacher to hundreds, some of whom hold prominent posts in society.

Post retirement, she has been relentlessly working to further interests of seniors in our society.

Truly inspiring!

सर्वप्रथम माझा मित्र संतोष जुवेकर ह्याचे ‘छावा‘ ह्या चित्रपटातील काम बघून तुम्ही जी त्याची स्तुती केलीत त्याबद्दल तुम्हा सर्वांचे धन्यवाद!!
आता.. गेल्या दोन आठवड्यांपासून त्याला जे ट्रोल करता आहात त्याबद्दल थोडसं..
"अक्षय खन्ना औरंगजेबाच्या भूमिकेत असल्यामुळे मला त्याच्याशी बोलावसंच वाटलं नाही" हे त्याचं वक्तव्य कुणालातरी खरोखरच हास्यास्पद वाटू शकतं. पण, त्यावर हसण्याआधी जरा संतोषच्या आधीच्या कारकिर्दीकडे बघणं गरजेचं आहे.

‘झेंडा‘ च्या वेळेस ‘संत्या‘ च्या भूमिकेच्या मुळातच खूप जवळ असलेला संतोष, केवळ अजून त्यात शिरता यावं म्हणून संपूर्ण चित्रीकरणा दरम्यान त्या चाळीतच राहिला होता. ‘मोरया‘ च्या वेळेस देखील तसंच. ‘एकतारा‘ हा चित्रपट गायकाच्या आयुष्यावर आधारित. त्या भूमिकेसाठी संतोष साधारणपणे वर्षभर गायन आणि गिटार वाजवणे शिकत होता. त्या वर्षातल्या माझ्या जवळपास सर्व कार्यक्रमांना केवळ ऑब्जर्व करण्यासाठी तो माझ्याबरोबर फिरत होता. हे माझ्या सोबतच्या चित्रपटांचे झाले. परंतु, इतर दिग्दर्शकांबरोबर इतर चित्रपटांसाठी देखील काम करताना, भूमिकेसाठी तितकाच वेडेपणा त्याने केलेला मी फार जवळून बघितलेला आहे. आता हीच जर त्याची ‘मेथड‘ असेल तर ती आपण सर्वांनी एक्सेप्ट करायलाच हवी.. कारण ‘रिझल्ट‘ आपण बघितलेला आहे आणि तो निर्विवाद आहे!

अभिनयाच्या ह्याच वेडापाई संतोष आजही एकटा राहतो. अर्थात, एकटा राहत असून सुद्धा त्याच्या एकट्याचा संसार हा दृष्ट लागण्यासारखा आहे! त्याचं घर कधीही जाऊन बघा.. एखाद्या गृहिणीला लाजवेल असं टापटीप असतं! त्यातच, तो जवळ रहाणाऱ्या स्वतःच्या आई-वडिलांची, अधिक पुतणीची काळजी देखील घेतो. कुठल्याही मराठी अभिनेत्याच्या नशिबी असलेली दुर्दैवी काटकसर त्याच्याही नशिबी आहे. परंतु, आजवर संतोषने कुणाचे पैसे बुडवल्याची किंवा नको ती देणी करून ठेवल्याची तक्रार आजवर कधीही ऐकलेली नाही.

अशा सोन्यासारख्या माणसाने आणि हाडाच्या अभिनेत्याने एखाद्या चित्रपटानंतर थोडे जास्त श्रेय घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, म्हणून त्याची खिल्ली उडवली गेली. पण सहाराच्या वाळवंटामध्ये भर उन्हात पळत राहावे आणि सतत पाणी म्हणून जे भासते, त्याच्या जवळ गेल्यावर ते मृगजळ निघावे.. असा प्रवास केलेल्या माणसाला खरोखर जर एखादा चवदार पाण्याचा तलाव मिळाला तर.. त्याचे वेड्यासारखे नाचणे हे हास्यास्पद म्हणावे की केविलवाणे?

ही शोकांतिका केवळ संतोष जुवेकरचीच नव्हे तर मराठीतल्या अनेक कलावंतांची आहे. वर्ष भर मेहनत करून एका शुक्रवारी चित्रपट येतो आणि शनिवारी एखादा मित्र किंवा फॅन त्याला विचारतो की "बाकी.. नवीन काय करतोयस?" त्यावेळेसचे त्या कलाकाराचे दुःख मीम करणाऱ्याला कधीच कळणार नाही. कारण दगडावर उमलू पाहणाऱ्या फुलाचा संघर्ष कबरी वरच्या बुरशीला कसा कळणार?

त्यातून, ज्या काही लोकांनी पहिली मीम केली त्यांचं खरोखरीच कौतुक आहे कारण त्यांनी प्रवाहच्याविरुद्ध, अर्थात सुपरहिट ठरलेल्या चित्रपटाच्या अभिनेत्याविरुद्ध विधान करण्याचे धाडस दाखवले. संतोषने देखील त्याबाबत कुठेही तक्रार न नोंदवता खिलाडू वृत्तीचे प्रदर्शन केले. पण त्यानंतर वडाच्या झाडावर उगवलेल्या बाकीच्या पिंपळाच्या वेलींनी आता थांबायला हवं.

छत्रपती संभाजी महाराजांच्या भूमिकेत एका अमराठी अभिनेत्याचा खुल्या दिलानं स्विकार करून तुम्ही तुमचं मोठं मन दाखवून दिलं आहे. आता आजूबाजूच्या मराठी अभिनेत्यांचे कौतुक करण्याची वेळ आली आहे. तिथे कमी पडून कमावलेलं घालवू नका.

कुटुंबातील सोहळा आहे. एखादा कुटुंबीय विचित्र नाचला. त्याला चिडवून झालं! आता पुरे! आता त्याला जवळ घ्या. एवढंच!
