I say this as part of the SL diaspora 😅 however, always felt this way when I lived in SL.

@theceylondude @gayaradesilva But don't you think being an MP be a qualified position? There should be a minimum qualification to run for government.
I always found it ironic that as Lankans, we place so much emphasis on qualifications, and yet some of the MPs who governed us weren't even qualified.

@gayaradesilva I have come to terms with the fact that principles are optional for pll in SL. Majority preach them but turn a blind eye when someone they know lack them.

And given the calibre of some of the ppl we have elected in the past to run the country, clearly that is not a priority.
