@keysmashbandit@VelvetPhysics No it's not. We might not understand all the calculations it is making, but somebody does. It is possible to understand them, check them, see the processes. AI is fundamentally different.
With so little time until #MarcellusWilliams is set to be executed tomorrow, Sept. 24th at 6 p.m., our best tool is our voice. We must make as much noise as possible in these final hours, as public pressure can make all the difference in the moments leading up to an execution.
Please, email, tweet or call Gov. Parson (@GovParsonMO) RIGHT NOW at 417-373-3400 and URGE him to step in and prevent Marcellus’ execution. https://t.co/2wq41v09Hj
Dissertation landmark I didn't even notice as it happened, but I completed data collection at the end of December! Now I just have to sort through it all...😳
Any advice for the (totally super fun) analysis phase?
@sensorystories_ Getting out of the house. It’s like 80% of why I am so often late. Add in migraines so I need to make sure I have my supplies (snacks, water) and it’s a mess. Keys? Water? Work stuff? Crap, did I turn off the stove? Did I lock the door? Where’s my phone? An absolute mess
@ItsEmilyKaty Working with ppl who get it (ADHD coaches) is validating, but they don't have the answers either and that is so discouraging. If they don't know, then what?
Also, all the professionals who didn't see a potential dx- I felt so weird until I finally figured it out myself.
@ItsEmilyKaty It can't really touch the mechanism (ADHD)- anything that requires reframing thoughts, trying new habits, etc. requires me being able to notice what is happening, stop it, and redirect it. But if I struggle with even putting that pause into place...then what?? No one knoooows.
@dustychipura Being late and oversleeping (not universal to ADHD but part of mine). I know it’s bad. I do try. I don’t know why I can’t fix it- it doesn’t make sense to me either! They get so stuck on it. I have no more information for you! An alarm clock isn’t the solution you think it is!
Whew folks, let’s talk about this one. A thread on social hierarchies, how we use biology to backfill them, and why doling out humanity on an exclusionary basis is a bad idea. (h/t @mccormick_ted for highlighting) https://t.co/7rkiYE0Mp3
@zikokomag So many- jumping in the tub with us kids in his work clothes. Digging holes to plant trees but filling them with water so we could play in them first. But I always think of him warming up my cold feet on his belly- must have been uncomfortable but he didn’t care ❤️
@average_mammal This is Gary. No one knows how old he is but he’s clearly been through it- scars, FIV, can’t see much. He wouldn’t come out from under the couch for several weeks. Now he needs constant pets and purrs like a diesel engine, looking furious the whole time. I love him so much 🥰
@HeatherIsAuDHD 1) putting on music that gets me in the right mood. Often peppy pop-punk cause it feels validating when I don’t wanna do something
2) Pomodoro. Not in a strict way but to give myself an out- the timer will go off, this isn’t forever (cause otherwise it can feel like forever 🤷♀️)
