Drones are speedrunning the history of military aviation: scouts, then bombers, then fighters to hunt them, then carriers and relays. And they keep branching into classes aviation never had.
Everything gets tested in combat. Only what works survives.
Ukrainian company SkyFall has unveiled StarGate, a heavy-lift aerial drone designed to evacuate wounded personnel from frontline positions, - The Associated Press reports
The six-propeller platform features a dedicated medical compartment with a stretcher and is designed to carry a payload of up to 150 kg (331 lb) over a one-way distance of up to 15 km (9.3 miles).
According to the Associated Press, StarGate uses multiple communication channels and AI-assisted functions to operate in environments where GPS signals are unavailable or electronic warfare disrupts communications.
The drone was recently handed over to a Ukrainian combat brigade for evaluation under frontline conditions. SkyFall plans to increase production capacity to up to 1,000 units per month by the end of 2026.

A Russian “Knyaz Vladimir Svyatoslavich” (KVS) kamikaze drone, developed by the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center, was intercepted by Ukrainian forces.
The KVS is built around a 10-inch FPV drone platform and features an unusual ring-shaped wing surrounding its fuselage. The design is intended to combine vertical takeoff with more efficient horizontal flight.
The drone is said to have a range of up to 50 km (31 miles). Its developer also claims that it can automatically acquire targets and continue operating autonomously if its radio link is lost. Its reported payload capacity of up to 3 kg (6.6 lb) has not been independently confirmed.
The drone was publicly unveiled in March 2026, although a similar design featuring an unusual ring-shaped wing had been spotted as early as October 2025.

The purported UUV mothership has been launched. It measures approximately 205 m in length.
Type 076 is also in the outfitting basin, with three GJ-21 mockups visible ashore nearby.
In another dry dock, hull sections in the staging area indicate that construction of the 12th Type 071 LPD will begin once one of the current vessels is launched.
