An Explanation.
(I’m a little drunk.) (This has taken over a week to put together.) (While, yes, consistently drunk.)
I joined Twitter July 24, 2007. At 10.07:53 pm. I wasn’t married yet.
@Brett_McS@OfficerCheezit@wheatweeds1 Currently [email protected] but I need to switch because the way Mastadon is built means it's easier to find people on your same server, which makes no sense to me if it's a similar structure as email. But anyway that's where I'm at for now.
@OfficerCheezit@wheatweeds1@Brett_McS Try it! It's a little like the mirror image of Parler in those 14 minutes I tried it, because, well, it's a certain type of person, typically, but it works, I'm building a timeline, it's free, and I miss my little circle of friends.
@Brett_McS@OfficerCheezit@wheatweeds1 Ehhh, the official API was the official API. Musk came along and got hot-potatoed a company he tried to get out of and now he's trying to make it make money. So his 3rd (or is it 4th) brilliant idea is breaking up the 3rd party developers WHO HAVE BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING.
@wheatweeds1@OfficerCheezit@Brett_McS Try mastodon! It makes no sense but I’ll figure it out eventually. It’s mostly Bay Area twitter quitters now so could use some balance.

I’ve been telling everyone for (nearly) decades to switch, but I guess six bucks a year was too much for people who think everything online should be free. But here we are, and here I am. And I can’t. This is my hill. I’m dead.
