@Gallan_Valiant@LiquidHbox Just making a platform fighter because it's "less saturated" isn't relevant to what happened with 2XKO specifically. It wouldn't have had a "higher chance" of succeeding as a platform fighter if it still had the same issues that it currently has. That's my point.
@Gallan_Valiant@LiquidHbox Let's just stop using this "oversaturation" logic because it has nothing to do with 2XKO's failure. Tons of fighting games are being supported and active right now. The only thing that got in 2XKO's way is the game itself. Stuff like delays, small roster, glitches etc.
@Gallan_Valiant@LiquidHbox That depends on your definition of a game "dying" because many fighting games have remained and have had active scenes for years.
All I'm saying is that other fighting games existing isn't why 2XKO failed. It didn't even have much competition as a tag fighter besides Tokon
@Gallan_Valiant@LiquidHbox There are plenty of fighting games doing well right now, and many fighting games that are being supported. It's a niche genre but it's possible for many traditional fighters to thrive all at once.
My point is basically that 2XKO not being a platform fighter isn't why it failed.
@Gallan_Valiant@LiquidHbox The fighting game genre isn't oversaturated. There aren't that many fighting games compared to games in other genres.
2XKO did many things wrong that have nothing to do with it being a traditional fighter. Being a platform fighter wouldn't have guaranteed it's success.
@MrMockRock Successful platform fighters outside of Smash can exist, but I personally don't like the way Hbox worded his tweet.
He makes it sound like 2XKO only failed because it wasn't a platform fighter, when that simply isn't true. His massive bias is really showing here.
@LiquidHbox Dude you're only saying this because YOU wanted 2XKO to be a Melee-esque platform fighter.
There are many reasons (delays, small roster, complicated tag mechanics etc.) why this game failed. Just making a platform fighter isn't the automatic answer, as we've seen in the past.
