@RottenInDenmark Not to ignore the prompt (pop neuroscience books are everywhere) but I would say "Delusions of Gender" is a rare example of a helpful book that really examines how thin the evidence is for so many studies. It's all underpowered! People are complicated!
@Lady_Historian It's not free but I've just gotten into ceramics though a parks and rec class and it's amazing. That said, my advice is to think of what you were into as a kid and do that.
Firstly, this great paper by @trainorlab and @MindfulRat on the impact of things like transportation stress and circadian rhythms 2/5

@bairdlet@gnuconsulting@UrsulaV Mixed feelings about them but I'd also recommend "The Changeling" by Victor LaValle and "The Ghost Wall" (sorry if these don't quite fit your criteria I do more SciFi than horror).
@bairdlet@gnuconsulting@UrsulaV If Nettle and Bone is the latest release I just finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it. You could go classic with Shirley Jackson. I also found "Drive your plow over the bones of the dead" fascinating.
@bairdlet I yearn for kitchen parafilm. You do actually pH stuff sometimes to make sure it's too acidic for botulism. You could get some pH strips for fun!
Academic journals will have to provide immediate access to papers that are publicly funded, ending a policy that had allowed publishers to keep publications behind a paywall for a year, according to a White House directive announced on Thursday. https://t.co/fqSzpJZvwr
@jelenawoehr General sanitizing rule: 10% bleach, for at least 10 minutes. If that isn't possible, 70% isopropanol or ethanol. Honestly even dish soap works usually. But I'm not an expert.
