Caleb Hammer on Rogan talking about how he wants a good subway system in Austin, but the homeless and criminal justice problems make it a non-starter
Many public transit advocates are coming to the same conclusion, We have to enforce the camping ban and replace our DA!
This should be a passenger rail line. There’s no need for freight to go through the middle of downtown anymore.
It’s actually terrifying to think about how bad this would be if it was hazardous material freight.
@avidseries You’re discounting some miraculous innovations, many of which the Middle East particularly relies on, such as advanced desalination.
It might still be a net negative to the US but I’m not sure that’s so obvious.
"To our steadfast partner, Israel, your mission is being executed with unmatched skill and iron determination. Fighting shoulder to shoulder with such a capable ally is a true force multiplier and a breath of fresh air. We salute your courage and your contribution."

With a pistol to his forehead, Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds made a choice.
He could save himself or save the 200 Jewish-American Soldiers under his command. For his heroism, he will receive the Medal of Honor on March 2. This is his story. 🧵
A MESSAGE TO THE JEWISH AMERICAN LEADERSHIP AND NONPROFITS:
I spoke with the Chabad leadership today.
If the American Jewish nonprofits and high profile donors truly want to combat antisemitism, you would invest almost everything into high quality, affordable Jewish education.
Ensure there is not even one American Jew today going to public school because their parents can't afford Jewish Day School.
I went to Harvard to study the Holocaust, I can promise you we don't need more museums on it.
Use that money to instead rapidly expand free trips to Israel and internships for American Jewish youth, hire Synagouge youth directors everywhere, double Jewish camp enrollment.
I promise you young American Jews don't need or want more galas, more museums, or more combatting antisemitism fellowships.
MANY Jewish legacy organizations are moving in this direction, unfortunately many aren't.
Donors: I urge you not to give money to legacy organizations that are stuck in the past and refuse to accept that young Jews are not tomorrow's leaders, they are today's leaders.
