Claude Sonnet 5.5 is out! We wrote a guide for building with it:
• choosing between Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5
• migrating from Sonnet 5 and tuning effort
• using it in Claude Code

(1/2) "I closed my ticket" is the sound of a dying engineering culture.
Look, you can have a flawless burndown chart and a totally stagnant product. We’ve accidentally trained developers to act like assembly-line workers.
Want a high-velocity team? Stop handing them chewed-up solutions. Hand them the raw problem.
Watch them stop translating syntax and start actually caring about the P&L.

(1/2) Every other post says our jobs are gone by 2028. It's getting pretty tiring.
When you actually build complex mobile systems, you see the cracks real fast. AI is amazing for boilerplate, but for the last mile—like offline-first architectures—it hits a wall.
The reality check:
1. The Context Trap: Shoving massive PRDs into a model just makes it hallucinate the middle.
2. Physics: The power grid literally can't handle the energy density these AI racks need.
3. Economics: APIs are artificially cheap right now. When the giant subsidies end, the math changes completely.
We aren't getting replaced. We just have to step up and become system orchestrators.

(2/2) Honestly, letting an unpredictable LLM blindly execute functions inside your codebase is a bit terrifying. Our threat models need to catch up, fast.
I wrote a deep dive on Medium breaking down exactly what this means for mobile architecture.

(1/2) If your team spends 80% of sprints polishing Jetpack Compose, you might be optimizing for a dying era.
Been digging into Android 16's new androidx.appfunctions alpha. Google is basically giving Gemini the keys to bypass your frontend entirely.
Your app is becoming a "headless" local microservice for AI agents. UI won't matter if your core features aren't exposed to the OS. 🤯

(2/2) I just wrote a deep dive on this "Jarvis reality" we're walking into.
Broke down the exact timeline (Meta Orion, OpenClaw) and what this massive shift means for the systems we're architecting today.

(1/2) In 5 years, no human is actually going to look at the mobile app UI you're building right now.
They'll just send their AI agent to talk to your API.
The smartphone is getting demoted to a silent "pocket server" for spatial glasses. The future of mobile is headless. 🤯

(2/2) To actually ship value, you have to force reality into the pipeline:
1️⃣ Force a strict rank (1 to N. No ties).
2️⃣ Make trade-offs visible ("We can build this, but it delays the Q4 infra migration. Deal?")
3️⃣ Enforce 1-in, 1-out.
I wrote a deeper dive on how to fix the "P0" trap before it stalls your roadmap.

(1/2) If everything on your roadmap is "Priority 1," you don't have a strategy. You have a wish list.
When leadership refuses to stack-rank the backlog, they aren't moving faster. They're just delegating business decisions down to the engineers, who will naturally build what's easiest—not what makes money.
100% utilization isn't efficiency. It's a traffic jam. 👇

The gap between 'idea' and 'implementation' is shrinking. Using AI to solve high-friction regulatory hurdles is a massive win for real-world utility. Congrats to the winners! 🚀 #ClaudeCode#Opus46#AI
Our latest Claude Code hackathon is officially a wrap.
500 builders spent a week exploring what they could do with Opus 4.6 and Claude Code.
Meet the winners:
(1/2) We’re mistaking typing speed for actual engineering.
Teams watch their AI-assisted PRs double and pop the champagne. But honestly? AI just makes it terrifyingly easy to crank out tangled code. And who has to untangle it? Your senior devs.
We traded writing boilerplate for the absolute headache of reviewing massive AI PRs. Seniors can't be "authors" anymore. They have to be "editors" setting boundaries before the AI even starts typing.

(2/2) I just wrote a piece on the "Complexity Tax"—and why we need to stop treating the codebase like a precious art project.
Technical leaders have to own the P&L. We're here to engineer a faster business, not just write perfect software.

(1/2) The biggest threat to your tech org isn't bad code.
It's building a perfect architecture for a problem you don't even have yet.
Honestly, it's exhausting to watch. Teams will burn six weeks future-proofing a microservice for 50 daily users. That isn't engineering excellence. It's just burning capital.
If your architecture is rigid, your business is rigid.
#EngineeringLeadership #TechDebt #SoftwareArchitecture #CTO
(2/2) Every "free" dependency you add is an invisible tax on your team's cognitive load and cycle time. The next era of engineering isn't about plugging more things together—it's about radical subtraction.
I wrote a breakdown on how to actually evaluate this risk. Read it here:

(1/2) We spend millions fortifying the perimeter, only to roll unvetted 3rd-party code right through the front door.
Honestly, "move fast and plug things in" has become a dangerous religion. Outsourcing code doesn't outsource your liability. If a tiny upstream library gets compromised, it's your company on the news. 🧵👇

(2/2) I wrote a strategic deep dive on how to invert your hiring funnel and manage the "Inflation of Code" in the AI era.

We are hiring excellent bricklayers in an era where bricks are free. 🧱
Generative AI has driven the cost of syntax to zero. A junior dev with Copilot can now generate a mountain of complexity before lunch.
But here is the reality most leaders ignore:
Code is not an asset. Code is a liability.
Every line you merge is a line you have to debug, secure, and migrate forever.
If you optimize for "writing speed" in 2026, you aren't building a product. You are building a labyrinth of unmanageable debt.
Stop hiring Writers.
Start hiring Editors.
