Steel export cycles aren’t 1-week projects.
They take 90–120 days from production to delivery.
Hope the extension reflects that reality.

Include smaller players in engagements. The pain is too much on the ground level. MSMEs are bound to go in surmounting debts and be at the mercy of a near monopoly being generated by these rules
@SandeepPoundrik@PiyushGoyal
The MoS had, on 13th June, released a notification that every shipment (bearing mentioned hs codes) needs BIS certified input material as well. Which essentially rendered imports impossible since no real affordable options remained after this enforcement.
Managing factory operations is becoming increasingly difficult with abrupt changes in policies and rules. I urge the MoS to reconsider and think about MSMEs
@nishantb15@SandeepPoundrik@SandeepPoundrik Sir, genuinely, pls understand, it's a request that amidst already sluggish demand in the last 7-8 months in stainless steel, and after months of wait for BIS of few firms in ASEAN, this new requirement of BIS input will further exacerbate our situation.
@shaunakrungta@SandeepPoundrik And given the near duopoly leads to predatory trade practices, delivery pressures on MSMEs, unfair pricing, no credit facilities, unfair demands of advances but not maintaining delivery timelines to name just a few
@shaunakrungta@SandeepPoundrik The logic then would extend to the even the nickel extracted from mines must be done through BIS specified guidelines. Small players like us are dying slowly. Sinking in losses, while only 2 players remain in the Indian market.
