Perticipating Deliberative Polling Platform in #novelprizesummit . Automatic subtitles appear, but they disappear quickly. And it is not possible to select them on the browser. This hinders ability of a non-native English speaker to use machine translation. It would be better if everything could be retained like in a chat. Integrating machine translation into the system itself would be ideal.
Thanks to @hal_sk , I had the opportunity to talk with @audreyt yesterday. I was happy to express that 'broad listening' is an augmentation of human ability, and it plays an important role for encouraging Plurality in Japan, whose culture values consensus.

I regret that due to my lack of English skills, I failed to explain about amazake, and I wasn't able to prevent her from mixing it with green tea. I tried it myself and found that was not tasty at all. I wanted to convey that it's sweet non-alcoholic drink rich in amino acids, but my description that it was made from fermented rice might have led her to associate it with makgeolli.

I said as below to GPT4 and it ask me interesting question
Nishio: It seems many Japanese don't see the need for decentrized IDs.
However, Japanese culture values consensus making.
So, "broad listening" is key to promoto Plurality in Japan.
It is beneficial for Japanese to make oppotunity to experience broad listening.
So I hosted conversations on Polis and got participated by hundreds of participants.
GPT: I'm curious, what were some of the insights or outcomes that emerged from these discussions?
I just have tried to run the Polis in my MacBook and there is a pitfall. I got it.
